3. RESEARCH
In the research stage of this project I had a slight idea of what I
wanted to do but I wasn’t fully set on that idea so I did research
on my idea but also expanded it and looks at different ideas so
that I have plenty of plans to fall back on. I started by looking at
music videos and picking them apart and annotating them to
see what themes the artists was going for and after that I then
created a mind map full of locations and angels I can use for my
music video and also put the plan Bs for the idea so if for some
reason I couldn’t get those shots. The research that I have done
has helped me to create my music video by looking at other
peoples I can see how to interact with your age group better
and properly hit a target audience.
4. PLANNING
For the planning of my music video I started by scouting out
locations that I could use and made sure that I would be able to
use those locations for my music video and I wouldn’t be
breaking the law by going to these locations. I then created risk
assessment sheets and crew member sheets so that I knew
what everyone was doing and I wouldn’t be wasting time on the
day finding out what people would be doing and where they
would be. Doing planning for this project helped me because I
knew what I was doing and I had everything planned out and
saved me time later down the line when it comes to filing the
music video.
5. TIME MANAGEMENT
In the time management part of my music video I made sure that
I would have enough time and to do this I created a a detailed
plan of what I was doing and when I was doing it so that I
wouldn’t get stuck behind on what I was doing and could get
things in on time and not have them be late. Doing a plan for
time management helped me to get my editing done on time and
helped me to have my clips for my music video ready for editing
and left my plenty of time to get editing done.
6. TECHNICAL QUALITIES -
CAMERA
The good Qualities that I have done in my camera work is that I
have got a lot of different camera angels and have got plenty of
shots to work with and I think that the location helped with this a
lot and also allowed me to get these types of shots and have
many angles to do those shots with and I think that I got the right
shots for the type of music video I wanted to create. The different
types of camera work that I did was that I turned the camera as I
zoomed in and it gave it a spiral effect I also did it where I stand
fare away and zoom in and slowly zoom out.
7. TECHNICAL QUALITIES –
EDITING/POST
The good qualities that I have in my editing are that I have made
my video look like it was filmed on a VHS camera and this
creates the effect that it is a old video and thats the effect that I
was aiming for. I have done a lot of very basic but effective
transitions and that adds to the feel that its a old video off a VHS
recorder. With the editing side of the project I did what I wanted to
do and I really like my music video.
8. AESTHETIC QUALITIES
This is a snip from my music
video and this snip has one
of the locations that I used in
my music video the thing I
like about the video from this
is the VHS effect and just
how the video looks almost
like a home video from the
1970s and that was the full
look that I was going for with
my music video. I also think
that the transitions and how
smooth they are really help
with making the video look
vintage.
9. AUDIENCE APPEAL
The audience that we have to target are videos towards I think that I
have hit that audience and the reason for that is in the car community
most of the people are that age so my music video has a very heavy
car influence in it so I think that I am aiming for that audience. Also the
VHS effect is coming back into style for younger people and my video
uses that effect so I believe that is another way that I am aiming at my
target audience.

13. FEEDBACK 3
What did you like about the product?
The VHS effect overlay looks super nice
What improvements could have been made to the product?
- the transitions with the monitor could have been smoother
14. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
-In my feedback I agree with the VHS being a good idea and
that it adds a feeling that it was filmed on old camcorder.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
-the thing that I disagree with is the comment about the
transitions being smoother because thats the rough feeling that
I wanted to go for when editing.
15. PEER FEEDBACK
SUMMARY
In my feedback all of the things they liked or found good where
the look that it was filmed on a old camcorder and thats good
because thats the type of feeling that I wanted to create with the
editing the music video. One of the things that I could improve
was by adding a wider range of transitions so that the same
transitions were not repeated. And another one was to also
make the transitions smoother so that the videos flow more but
personally when editing thats the kind of feel that I wanted when
editing so that it looked like a rough old VHS tape.
