3. What is the Ultranet?
 Is an online learning management system developed by
DEECD designed to provide 24/7 access via the Internet
for all valid users.
 It was rolled out to Government schools in August 2010.
 The Ultranet is divided into a number of spaces including
Design, Collaborative Learning, Community and Express.
 Applications can be added to these spaces such as a
blog, wiki, iFrame, calender, reference library.

 NHS is part of the ‘Lighthouse Project’.
 Aims to build the capability of secondary students
and teachers to:
 Use the Ultranet effectively to support T & L.
 Support the introduction of a 1:1 computer
program.
 Share findings with other schools, the region & the
department.
