• The West and North is made of low flat lands.
• The east and south is made of higher land
with minor hills.
• There is no mountains with the highest
elevation being a summit at 1,059 feet.

3. Customs and Traditions
• Bicycles are very popular for there are more
than 12 million owned in Holland.
• Windmills are very big for energy.
• Wooden Shoes are popular in Netherlands.
• Are known to treat people very equal.
• Coffee in the morning and tea or coffee after
diner are very important times in the Dutch
society.

4. Economy
• The Dutch economy is the fifth-largest
economy in the euro-zone.
• Industrial activity is predominantly in food .
• They have a 42 thousand GDP per capita.
• Very prosperous and open economy.
• Depends heavily on foreign trade.

5. Cultural Characteristics
• Amsterdam has people from 170 different
nationalities living there.
• Families tend to be small one to two children
homes.
• Official language is Dutch.
• Culture is very diverse reflecting many
regional differences.
• Dutch was known for golden age.

6. Geography
• Located in western Europe between Germany
and Belgium bordering the north sea.
• Terrain is mostly lowlands.
• Only true natural hazard is flooding.
• Main natural resources are petroleum and
natural gas.
• Located at mouth of three European rivers.
