2. YOUTH DEFINITION
 Youth means every person between the ages of 15 and
35 years.
 Youth is best understood as aeriod of transition from
the dependence of childhood.
 Adulthoods independence and awareness of our
interdependence as member of a community.

3. YOUTH PROGRAMMES
 Around one lakh Yuvak Manadals in rural areas organized under the
community development progaramme.
 NSS in colleges and universities.
 Nehru Yuvak Kendra's at the district level for student and non-
student youth.
 National graduate volunteer scheme.
 National Cadet Corps in colleges.
 Youth clubs organize by agricultural colleges, universities & training
centers on community development.

4. NEEDS OF THE YOUTH
 To affect an integration in personality for becoming a
mature and responsible adult.
 Outgrowing protection and developing emotional
independence.
 To bring about necessary adjustment with opposite sex
and achieving mature relation with age-mates and to
prepare for family life.
 To select and prepare for a vocation in order to achieve
economic independence.
