Welcome to my power-point on
Remembrance Day. I hope that you are
going to enjoy this presentation because
it will show you what happens today in
wars across Afghanistan & World War 1
and World War Ii. I hope that you enjoy
it.

4. Facts on World War I & II and
other wars.
In 1914 a war started in France & Belgium
and it lasted 4 years until the Armistice on
11th November 1918. 750 million people lost
their lives in that war. In 1939 a second war
broke out and 125 million people died. This
war was under Hitler. Britain Won And
Hitler Didn’t. In 2011 wars still carry on in
Afghanistan.
5. The Cenotaph
Every year a service is held in Whitehall
London. This ceremony happens near to the
Cenotaph. After they have had a minute
silence the Queen lays the first wreath on
the Cenotaph and they have a march around
London.
6. The Royal British Legion.
The money from all your poppies that you
buy goes to people who have lost people in
the war or if the soldier who has been
injured can get fit again.
Some reasons what events they do.
Every year they do a remembrance festival
at the Royal Albert Hall and the annual
poppy appeal.
7. Remembrance Sunday
Remembrance Sunday is held in The UK in
November to the nearest Sunday by the 11th
of November. Special services are held in
Churches or memorials over Britain.
8. Remembrance Day
Remembrance Day began on the 11 of
November 1918. It was to recall the ending
of the first World War. It formally ended at
the 11th hour, 11th month and 11th day. On
Friday 11th Of November 2011 we remember
the servicemen who had died in wars. The
Reason why we where a poppy is that their
was not anything left over than the poppys
that grow every year which brought hope.
