The socio demographic for the film would be
that of middle class teenagers. These would be
aspirers (Young & Rubicam) this would come
from the film offering no questions to media
last through editing and shots. This aspirers
would also like a wide range of films through

3. GRATIFICATIONS &
PLEASURES
Our film would allow the audience would feel
two of the four (Blumer & Katz) uses and
gratification theory. These would be:
Diversion and Personal Relationships. This
would come from the escapism of the real
world and into a world of ghosts and terror.
Secondly, personal relationships, as a lot of
the film would only show one character it
would result in a huge relationship between
the character and audience.
4. DYERS UTOPIAN SOLUTIONS
In simple, Dyers utopian
solution is an opposite. It
is an escapism of what
the audience feels to the
complete opposite; ie if

5. DYERS UTOPIAN; THE WOODS
As the audience of our film are aspirers we would
need to include feelings such as scarcity and
manipulation as a part of the escapism needed to
create a good horror film. We would manipulate the
audience to feel scares, anxiety and terror. This
would be done by creating a relationship between
both audience and character and would be the vital
component in creating an interest for aspirers.
