1. SPIRIT & PHILOSOPHY OF UAUT
The purpose of founding The United African University of Tanzania
(UAUT) is to raise Tanzanian leaders who are equipped
with excellence in wisdom, knowledge and Christian virtues.
Our leaders will lead and serve Tanzania, Africa, and the world
with God’s vision, confidence, courage, and great passion.
They will be imbued with a love for the people of Tanzania,
Africa, and the world, and graduate with a proven ability to
accomplish the great mission of establishing Tanzania as the
light and salt of Africa and the world in the twenty-first century
and in the ages to come.
To accomplish this purpose, UAUT will abide by the following
disciplines: excellence in the knowledge and practice of the
professional fields, faithful discipline of Christian values,
continual cooperation with other universities, governments,
and both domestic and international institutions, and the
promotion of a bold spirit for the coming future.
These disciplines will be practiced in all the university’s policies,
administration, and teachings. In pursuing these paths to accomplish
the UAUT purpose, UAUT will maintain the highest standards
of the Christian core values which constitute the conservative
Christian doctrines, including the practice of love, righteousness,
honesty, integrity, diligence, purity, and the Great Commission,
and will preserve these standards at any cost up to,
and including, the existence of UAUT itself.
