2. INTRODUCTION
 Many jobs now require a high level of IT
competency and confidence. Digital literacy
– IT and online communication skills is
necessary for living, learning and working.
A complete culture change is required to live
fully within the modern digital society, from
understanding how to communicate ideas
effectively in a range of media to managing
digital reputation and history.

3. EMPLOYABILITY
 A set of achievements, - skills, understandings and
personal attributes – that make graduates more
likely to gain employment and be successful in
their chosen occupations, which benefits
themselves, the workforce, the community and the
economy is known as employability.

4. EMPLOYABILITY SKILLS
 A group of essential abilities that involve the
development of a knowledge base, expertise
level and mindset that is increasingly
necessary for success in the modern
workplace. Employability skills are typically
considered essential qualifications for many
job positions and hence have become
necessary for an individual’s employment
success at just about any level within a
business environment.

5. DIGITAL AGE
 The digital age, also called the
information age, is defined as the time
period starting in the 1970s with the
introduction to the personal computer
with subsequent technology introduced
providing the ability to transfer
information freely and quickly.
 The time period in which we live now
where internet and email are available
is an example of the digital age.

6. 21ST CENTURY SKILLS
 Dept. of Commerce – Workers who use a computer at
work can earn 17 to 22 percent more than other
workers.
 CEO Forum – Students require higher levels of
education to succeed in the new knowledge-based
economy.
