This document describes a program that allows experienced library and information staff to earn a BA (Hons) in Professional Practice (Information & Libraries Management) through a hybrid model combining traditional higher education and work-based learning. Participants can develop their knowledge through content modules and work-based projects while demonstrating their learning through evidence and reflection. The degree title can be negotiated to reflect their area of knowledge or experience, such as health information management.

6. Learn while you earn – a hybrid model of learning combining both traditional Higher Education and Work based Learning. Using this framework – a collaboration between Middlesex University’s Work based Learning Framework and Thames Valley University’s Library & Information Management modules, you can achieve a degree where you can negotiate your award title. On achieving an award, CILIP will be in a position to progress your Professional Status.
