2. Step One – Explore & Understand
I would dialogue with all the people concerned with
this Project – students, sports instructors, school
administrators, etc. to understand their needs.
I would find out what they need, what are their
challenges with the existing set of lockers, what they
like about them, what they don’t, what are their
thoughts about a ‘dream locker’….
3. Step Two -- Define
I would synthesize all these dialogues to define what
the objective is – to design a locker that meets x/y/z
needs
4. Step Three -- Play
The fun begins now – ideating using different
techniques, with a diverse set of people, finding what is
happening in other schools, what are other examples of
‘great spaces’, not just ‘lockers’
I would converge to a few great concepts at the end of
it
5. Step Four – Make it Work
I would create a simple prototype for the ‘best concept’
as decided by my team
I would apply it, see how people experience it, and
make changes till it becomes the best possible design
for a student locker
Notes de l'éditeur
Suppose you have been hired to re-design the student lockers at a large public high school.
