The Lyon Smart Community Project aims to test smart city technologies and sustainable development at the district scale. It includes four main components: 1) Positive Energy Buildings that produce more energy than they consume using renewable energy sources. 2) An alternative transport system powered by renewable energy. 3) An energy management system to better monitor energy production and consumption across the district. 4) Support for refurbishing an existing neighborhood to improve energy efficiency. The project has 30 partners, a 50 million euro budget, and will run for 6 years in the Confluence district of Lyon, demonstrating Lyon's leadership in developing smart and sustainable cities.
