2. The basic layout Date – Written underneath the masthead and header. Masthead– Placed at the top of the contents page. Black Backgrounds – Placed behind the subtitles, they make the white font stand out and show a partition between each section. Main Image – In the centre of the page, very large and takes up alot of room. The image has a caption and page number. Left hand Column – Filled with text and acts as an index. Pages numbers are allocated. Page Numbers – In a different colour to the font beside it. Arrow – Placed at the bottom right, encouraging the reader to turn the page.
3. Language on the Contents Page There are small explanations of what to expect from that page. There isn’t much information, but enough to give the reader an idea. It is left on a cliffhanger at times to encourage the reader to turn to that specific page and read on. Alliteration is used here as it sounds effective for the reader. They wouldn’t expect the reader to necessarily pick up on the fact that there is alliteration present but they would expect them to be able to read it smoothly. The subheadings are also very short and they tell the reader what is exactly on the page, the caption then written beneath explains the titles in more detail.
4. Colour Theme and House Style On this particular issue of “NME” there is a very obvious red, white and black colour theme. I like the fact that there is one as I believe it makes the overall page look neat. Black and white are very plain colours, so the red compliments them well and gives it some extra spice. There isn’t much red on the page but just enough to make it look colourful.
5. Subscription There is a subscription that is placed at the bottom left of the contents page. It offers the reader a cheap deal and gives them a link in which to complete the subscription. In smaller font underneath the yellow and white bold font there is a date and phone number for the reader.

7. A Colour theme that is very strict and matches the front cover.
8. Some kind of competition or offer for the reader.
