3. Models
The models I have used for my
magazine are people who
represent my target audience.
They fall within the target age
group of 16-30 (majority students),
by having people like this
throughout my magazine, it relates
to the target audience for the
reason that they are similar to
each other. The models represent
the target audience well due their
ethnicity, as they are black
females and my primary audience
is African’s and Caribbean’s.
4. Clothing
Another way to represent my
target audience is the clothing in
the mise-en-scene of the images.
The clothing used was a very
important part in the image I
wanted my models to portray. By
having matching outfits, similar
colours, and fashionable, trendy
designer clothes that are worn on
a regular basis by my target
audience, represents the urban
community.
5. Language
As the target audience is mainly
middle class black people who have
an urban upbringing, they are more
likely to be interested in the models
image as it closely resembles
themselves. In order for my magazine
to represent the audience, I made use
of slang such as the word ‘swag’ to
make sure that those reading the
magazine can relate. However I used
majority standard English and made
sure I did not overuse the slang in order
to maintain some form of
professionalism.
