rocking chair plans, drove by the hardware
store for some wood and screws and got to
work.
All I had to do was cut the wood at the speci ed
sizes, cut out a few joints, and I'm not talking
dovetail joints here… screw the parts together,
hammer a few nails, and rock away.
But by the end of the day my rocking chair

looked like a train-wreck.
So, in the morning I bought more wood and
started on the second design. And that one
turned out even worse than the rst one.
The third one and the fourth… I don’t even want
to mention those.

Over and over again, either the armrests didn't
t, the rockers turned out square, or a leg came
out short.
All the plans I found for my rocking chair
project turned out to be a real can of worms…
And each and every time I tried, I failed
miserably.
I just couldn’t do it. I was in over my head.
And I was so frustrated! I must have spent
hundreds of dollars on wood from our precious
savings, and hundreds of hours getting things
wrong before I nally had a moment of clarity.
