41. The book, with a collection of chapters contributed by leading
communication researchers, covers the current and emerging
interplay of social media and crisis communication, recent theories
and frameworks, overviews of dominant research streams,
applications in specific crisis areas, and future directions.
Both the theoretical and the practical are discussed, providing a
volume that appeals to both academic-minded readers as well as
professionals at the managerial, decision-making level. The
audience includes public relations and corporate communication
scholars, graduate students studying social media and crisis
communication, researchers, crisis managers working in
communication departments, and business leaders who make
strategic business communication planning.

42. The civic and moral responsibilities of public relations are hotly
contested topics. While many researchers call for focusing on ethics
in public relations, they concentrate on ethics in relation to how
people do their jobs. In actuality, emphasis should move beyond
professional codes of ethics to include general morality and
citizenship. Currently, as the profession receives greater scrutiny, it is
important to be aware of the value of public relations in the
community. This book centers on four areas of public relations’
conscience in order to examine its role in morality and citizenship:
civic professionalism, corporate social responsibility, ethics, and
public communication. This approach will help to answer the
question of what is public relations’ responsibility to the public good.

43. …offers communication scholars, professionals, and students current
insights on how emerging technologies challenge and change the
rules of stakeholder engagement in corporate, nonprofit, and
activist environments. Topics include updated thinking on mobile
applications, crisis response, and ethical implications of online
exchanges in addition to groundbreaking explorations into the
developing arenas of personas, emojis, listening theory, and
historiophoty in public relations practice.
New Media and Public Relations is well-suited for advanced
undergraduate and graduate courses in public relations principles,
management, case studies, and strategy, as well as courses in
corporate communication, marketing communication, integrated
marketing communication, and digital communication.

44. Dr. Ray Hiebert's Courtier to the Crowd is the definitive biography
of PR founder Ivy Lee, first published in 1966 and out of print
since. This just printed 50th anniversary edition is true to the
original, and contains an updated forward written by the author
in April 2017. The story of Ivy Lee is also the story of the founding
of the modern public relations profession, which Lee helped
shape during the turn of the 20th century, until his premature
death in 1934. He is best known as counselor to the Rockefeller
Family and the Pennsylvania Railroad, and as the "inventor" of the
press release. This signed copy of Courtier's 50th Anniversary
Edition is sure to become a collectors' edition one day.

45. Psychological resilience has emerged as a highly significant area of
research and practice in recent years, finding applications with a
broad range of different groups in many settings. Contemporary
discourse is not limited to ways of effective coping with adversity
but also introduces mechanisms that can lead to enhanced
capacity after dealing with difficult circumstances and recognises
the importance of enriching the field with varied perspectives. The
Routledge International Handbook of Psychosocial Resilience is a
comprehensive compendium of writings of international
contributors that takes stock of the state-of-the-art in resilience
theory, research and practice.

47. Critical and social identity intersectionalities approach to
interpretations of femininity among three generations of women for
a rhetorical examination of how femininity is made to mean by
media and popular culture. Amplified are voices of women across
multiple age, ethnic, and sexual orientation groups who shared in
focus groups and interviews their perceptions of femininity and
feminine ideals. Femininity is explored using theories from
communication and mass media, psychology, sociology, and
feminist and gender studies. Donnalyn Pompper explores
femininities as shaped by cultural rituals and industries, at home
and at work in organizations, on sporting fields and arenas, and in
politics.

48. …builds upon traditional approaches to understanding the role of
mass media in shaping social issues by amplifying diverse
perspectives of opinion leaders, as well as voices of those affected
by climate and sustainability issues.
From South Korea and China, to the United States and Zambia, the
studies reported in this book--compiled using a variety of formal
research methods, including content analysis, interview, and survey-
-emphasize cultural orientation and global implications of climate
and sustainability concerns and issues. The contributors explore the
cultures, geographies, and media systems underpinning climate
and sustainability campaigns emerging around the world, how we
theorize about them, and the ways in which media are used to
communicate about them.
