STEP 1:
− Insert Ubuntu 10.10 cd in the cd drive.
− Boot the PC from cd.
− Select English or other language according
to your preferences.

− Choose second option for installing ubuntu
on the hard drive.

− Choose second option for specifying
partitions manually.

− Select the free space and click Add option
to create a new partition.
− Choose partition type as Primary(size
around 70% of the free space available).
− Use ext3 journaling file system and select
mount point as “ / ” and click ok.

click Add option.
− Choose partition type as logical (size
around 300mb).
− Use ext3 journaling file system and select
mount point as “ /boot ” and click ok.

Add option.
− Choose partition type as logical (size is
around twice the size of your RAM ie.. if
512MB Ram means you have to allocate
1000 MB for swap area).
− Use as swap area and click ok.

− After copying all files the message saying
that installation complete.
− Click Restart now and remove the cd.
