INTRODUCTION
 Keeping in view Swami Vivekananda’s emphasis and
motivation of youth for STRENGTH & COURAGE of
lion , Swamiji’s education has been acronymed as BE
BRAVE Education.
 The acronym stands for Balanced Education through
Best Realistic Application of Vivekananda’s
Eclectically balanced Education.
 Eclectic stands for multidisciplinary because Swamiji
believed in integrated development of all the faculties
of body, mind, heart & soul, growth as well as
environment.The same philosophy of education has
been explained and recommended independently by
Bapu Mahatma Gandhi and Sri Aurobindo Ghosh.
FLAWS OF CURRENT EDUCATION
 “Current education is worthless as it produces humpty bumpy
dyspeptic human beings.”.
- SWAMI VIVEKANANDA(1863-1902)
 “Current education tells nothing about my home, and thus
is of no use.
 - MAHATMA GANDHI (1869-1948)
 “ Current schooling is seen as an anti-thesis of an
imposed uniformity of prescribed courses and it can be
linked to what was taught in schools under the colonial
rule and needs to be changed.”

“That the knowledge is already dormant within
the child. The teacher is a helper and a guide.”
- SRI AUROBINDO GHOSH (1872-1950)
STRANGE FACTS ABOUT CURRENT
EDUCATION
 EDUCATION WITHOUT ANY DOUBT IS AN
ESTABLISHED SEPARATE ACADEMIC SUBJECT
HAVING A DEPARTMENT OF ITS OWN, STILL THIS
SUBJECT EVEN AS EDUCATION , IS NOT BEING
TAUGHT TO STUDENTS OTHER THAN TEACHERS
 HOW CAN A PERSON BECOME BIOLOGIST
WITHOUT STUDYING BIOLOGY, THEN WHY ARE WE
MAKING EDUCATED WITHOUT TEACHING THE
SUBJECT OF EDUCATION, MORE CORRECTLY, THE
SUBJECT SHOULD BE RENAMED AS BALANCED
EDUCATION(or BE BRAVE).
ROLE OF OTHER THAN EDUCATIONAL
AGENCIES FOR BETTER EDUCATION
 Is it not strange that Hon’ble Supreme Court of India had to
tell UGC that the subject of Environment Studies is important
and must be taught to all students.
 Universities should not wait for such directives from UGC for
the teaching of the subject of Balanced Education.
. All round self-development is possible only after learning
balanced education, therefore each university should teach
balanced eclectic Vivekananda education as one 4 credit
course paper, to all three year bachelor degree course
students like B.A./B.Sc./ B.Tech./M.B.B.S.,/ Law etc.
VALIDLY EDUCATED PROFESSIONALS
 No doubt our professional degree course students
also need all round development , therefore,
they must also be taught a paper on “BE BRAVE”.
 Only this will enable our engineers, doctors, lawers
etc. to get an exposure to SELF DEVELOPMENT &
make informed decisions in all spheres of their life.
 As an educated person, entire youth will thus be able
to learn the healthy lifestyle skills to be a part of
this Vivekananda’s BE BRAVE education subject.

 BOTH THESE NATIONAL LEADERS SHARE THE
SAME VIEW-POINT FOR THE DEFINITION OF
EDUCATION BECAUSE THE DEFINITION OF
EDUCATION BY BOTH MEANS IDENTICAL
PHILOSOPHY ,THOUGH IN DIFFERENT WORDS.
 SWAMI VIVEKANANDA DEFINED EDUCATION
AS MANIFESTATION OF THE PERFECTION
ALREADY PRESENT IN MAN, WHILE GANDHIJI
DEFINED IT SAYING “Education is the drawing out
of the best out of Body, Mind and Soul, both in man
and the child.”This also means perfection is already
inside us all.
BALANCE EDUCATION DEFINITION
FOR ACHIEVING SDG2030
 Balanced Education may be defined as the right
minimum amount of education required for Healthy, Fit,
Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Financial, Environmental,
Genetic, Cultural development.
 It is high time , we make our teachers conscious leaders
in Balanced Education, may be with help from NAAC in
this regard.
 It is only after the valid all round education of the
teachers & youth that the Sustainable Development Goals
aimed to be achieved by 2030, may be made possible to
be achieved in time(UNO,2015).
PRACTICAL HOMAGE TO VGA
 In stead of theoretical respect shown to our Great
national leaders namely, Vivekanandaji, Gandhi ji,
and Aurobindo Ghoshji, we should respect their
wishes by practicing Balanced Education in our
schools by introducing it as a new subject, like
Mathematics.
 BE BRAVE had been recommended by all the three
abovementioned leaders describing Vivekananda’s
Balanced Eclectic Education in slightly different
words, meaning the same multi-domain drawing
out the best out of one’s body, mind, heart & soul.
SEA CHANGE NEEDED
 The introduction of BE BRAVE is possible only
through a sea change by promulgating an act of
Parliament to make BE BRAVE Balanced Education
paper compulsory for all schools , colleges and
universities in the country.
 This alone may give justice to all students devoid of
learning the way of life and the meaning of real
education.

INTRODUCTION  Keeping in view Swami Vivekananda’s emphasis and motivation of youth for STRENGTH & COURAGE of lion , Swamiji’s education has been acronymed as BE BRAVE Education.  The acronym stands for Balanced Education through Best Realistic Application of Vivekananda’s Eclectically balanced Education.  Eclectic stands for multidisciplinary because Swamiji believed in integrated development of all the faculties of body, mind, heart & soul, growth as well as environment.The same philosophy of education has been explained and recommended independently by Bapu Mahatma Gandhi and Sri Aurobindo Ghosh.

FLAWS OF CURRENT EDUCATION  “Current education is worthless as it produces humpty bumpy dyspeptic human beings.”. - SWAMI VIVEKANANDA(1863-1902)  “Current education tells nothing about my home, and thus is of no use.  - MAHATMA GANDHI (1869-1948)  “ Current schooling is seen as an anti-thesis of an imposed uniformity of prescribed courses and it can be linked to what was taught in schools under the colonial rule and needs to be changed.” Sri Aurobindo Ghosh (1872-1950)

SIMILARITY OF PHILOSOPHY OF EDUCATION DEFINED BY THE THREE EDUCATIONISTS “Education is the manifestation of perfection already in man.” - SWAMI VIVEKANANDA(1863-1902) “Education is drawing out the best in body, mind & soul.” - MAHATMA GANDHI (1869-1948) “That the knowledge is already dormant within the child. The teacher is a helper and a guide.” - SRI AUROBINDO GHOSH (1872-1950)

STRANGE FACTS ABOUT CURRENT EDUCATION  EDUCATION WITHOUT ANY DOUBT IS AN ESTABLISHED SEPARATE ACADEMIC SUBJECT HAVING A DEPARTMENT OF ITS OWN, STILL THIS SUBJECT EVEN AS EDUCATION , IS NOT BEING TAUGHT TO STUDENTS OTHER THAN TEACHERS  HOW CAN A PERSON BECOME BIOLOGIST WITHOUT STUDYING BIOLOGY, THEN WHY ARE WE MAKING EDUCATED WITHOUT TEACHING THE SUBJECT OF EDUCATION, MORE CORRECTLY, THE SUBJECT SHOULD BE RENAMED AS BALANCED EDUCATION(or BE BRAVE).

ROLE OF OTHER THAN EDUCATIONAL AGENCIES FOR BETTER EDUCATION  Is it not strange that Hon’ble Supreme Court of India had to tell UGC that the subject of Environment Studies is important and must be taught to all students.  Universities should not wait for such directives from UGC for the teaching of the subject of Balanced Education. . All round self-development is possible only after learning balanced education, therefore each university should teach balanced eclectic Vivekananda education as one 4 credit course paper, to all three year bachelor degree course students like B.A./B.Sc./ B.Tech./M.B.B.S.,/ Law etc.
  • 7. VALIDLY EDUCATED PROFESSIONALS  No doubt our professional degree course students also need all round development , therefore, they must also be taught a paper on “BE BRAVE”.  Only this will enable our engineers, doctors, lawers etc. to get an exposure to SELF DEVELOPMENT & make informed decisions in all spheres of their life.  As an educated person, entire youth will thus be able to learn the healthy lifestyle skills to be a part of this Vivekananda’s BE BRAVE education subject.

BAPU GANDHI AND SWAMI VIVEKANANDA’S DEFINITIONS OF EDUCATION  BOTH THESE NATIONAL LEADERS SHARE THE SAME VIEW-POINT FOR THE DEFINITION OF EDUCATION BECAUSE THE DEFINITION OF EDUCATION BY BOTH MEANS IDENTICAL PHILOSOPHY ,THOUGH IN DIFFERENT WORDS.  SWAMI VIVEKANANDA DEFINED EDUCATION AS MANIFESTATION OF THE PERFECTION ALREADY PRESENT IN MAN, WHILE GANDHIJI DEFINED IT SAYING “Education is the drawing out of the best out of Body, Mind and Soul, both in man and the child.”This also means perfection is already inside us all.

BALANCE EDUCATION DEFINITION FOR ACHIEVING SDG2030  Balanced Education may be defined as the right minimum amount of education required for Healthy, Fit, Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Financial, Environmental, Genetic, Cultural development.  It is high time , we make our teachers conscious leaders in Balanced Education, may be with help from NAAC in this regard.  It is only after the valid all round education of the teachers & youth that the Sustainable Development Goals aimed to be achieved by 2030, may be made possible to be achieved in time(UNO,2015).

PRACTICAL HOMAGE TO VGA  In stead of theoretical respect shown to our Great national leaders namely, Vivekanandaji, Gandhi ji, and Aurobindo Ghoshji, we should respect their wishes by practicing Balanced Education in our schools by introducing it as a new subject, like Mathematics.  BE BRAVE had been recommended by all the three abovementioned leaders describing Vivekananda’s Balanced Eclectic Education in slightly different words, meaning the same multi-domain drawing out the best out of one’s body, mind, heart & soul.

SEA CHANGE NEEDED  The introduction of BE BRAVE is possible only through a sea change by promulgating an act of Parliament to make BE BRAVE Balanced Education paper compulsory for all schools , colleges and universities in the country.  This alone may give justice to all students devoid of learning the way of life and the meaning of real education.
