ENGLISH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION 2º AND 3º TERM PROJECT
1. ENGLISH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION PROJECT (2º/3dr TERM)
2016-2017 ACADEMIC COURSE
– During the 2º and the 3rd
term we will work together on an ambitious project:
We will develop a musical!
– It will take a lot of effort, along with responsibility and cooperation.
FIRST: get in groups of 5, 6, or 7 people and pick one of these movies and the song that fits best:
The Jungle book
Frozen
Spiderman
Star Wars
Finding Nemo
Toy Story
Twilight
The Lion King
La La Lan
Other movie you may like ...
SECOND: prepare your choreography and rehearse untill you have to perform it in front of your classmates
and your teacher before the end of the second term.
You can either DANCE, include ACROSPORT and ROPE SKIPPING ABILITIES, or combine them in a way
that appeals to you and fits into the music.
Costumes, make up or other pieces of clothing can help you boost your performance.
Dancing
Rope skipping
Acrosport
(acrobat choreography sport)
THIRD: add basic dialogues, edit the music and the choreography so that you can come up with a story that
is closely related to your movie. You must perform your musical before the third term is finished.

3. Take this as an example ...
“SPIDERMAN” (ABRIDGED FOR A 3rd
ESO PLURILINGUAL GROUP)
• IT'S A GROUP OF 4 STUDENTS
• THEY CHOSE THE SPIDERMAN'S MUSICAL
• THEIR ENGLISH TEACHERS HELPED THEM WRITE THE DIALOGUES
• THEIR P.E. TEACHER HELPED THEM DEVELOP THE CHOREOGRAPHIES
• THEY PLAYED THESE ROLES …
1. HEROE (Spiderman/Peter Parker)
2. VILLAIN (Green Goblin/Norman Osborn)
3. GIRLFRIEND (Mary Jane)
4. AUNT (May)
Narrator (either of the students): Peter Parker was 6 when his parents were killed in an airplane
crash. He went to live with his uncle and aunt, Ben and May Parker, in New York.
One evening Parker attended an exhibition about nuclear materials. During a demonstration, a small
spider happened to be in the path of a particle accelerator's device and was irradiated. Parker was
biten in his hand by this spider and left the exhibition.
Parker made his way home and passed through a narrow street. He was accosted by a gang of mean
guys. Tossing the gang members aside, Parker was shocked by his own display of strength. To his
surprise, he discovered that he was able to stick to the wall with his fngertips as well.
SCENE 1
Aunt May: [Peter breaks a lamp in his room trying to practice his web shots]
[Behind door]
Aunt May: Peter?
[Peter opens door barely to hide webs in his room]
Aunt May: What's going on in there?
Peter Parker: I'm excercising. I'm not dressed Aunt May.
Aunt May: Well... you're acting so strangely Peter...
Peter Parker: I'm fne … please don't worry aunt May.
Aunt May: Peter, look. You're changing. I know. I went through exactly the same thing at your age.
Peter Parker: No. Not exactly.
Peter Parker: (to himself) Whatever life holds in store for me, I will never forget my uncle's words:
"With great power comes great responsibility." This is my gift, my curse. Who am I? I'm Spider-man.
2 min DANCING CHOREOGRAPHY
SCENE 2
Green Goblin: [lands in front of Spider-Man on a rooftop] You're an amazing creature, Spider-Man.
You and I are not so different.
Spider-Man: I'm not like you. You're a villain. You're a murderer.
Green Goblin: Well, to each his own. I chose my path, you chose the way of the hero. But the one
thing people love more than a hero is to see a hero fail, fall, die trying. Why bother?
Spider-Man: Because it's right.
Green Goblin: [leans in and grabs Spider-Man's neck] I could squash you like a bug right now, but
I'm offering you a choice. Join me! Imagine what we could accomplish together... what we could
create ...think about it, hero!
(Green Goblin leaves, Spider Man notices that Mary Jane is coming and gets rid of his superhero
costume)
4. SCENE 3
Mary Jane: Peter! Did you see Spiderman? Did you talk to him?
Peter Parker: Yeah.
Mary Jane: What did he say?
Peter Parker: Mmmm... he asked me what I thought about you.
Mary Jane: And what did you say?
Peter Parker: I said... when you look in her eyes and she's looking back in yours... everything...
feels... not quite normal. Because you feel stronger and weaker at the same time. You feel excited
and at the same time, terrifed. The truth is... you don't know what you feel except you know what
kind of man you want to be.
Mary Jane: You said that?
Peter Parker: Well, something like that...by the way, can I take
your picture for the school paper?
Mary Jane: Sure.
2 min ROPE SKIPPING CHOREOGRAPHY
SCENE 4
Green Goblin: Misery, Misery, that's what you've chosen.
I offered you friendship and you spat in my face.
[Green Goblin beats Spider-Man]
Green Goblin: If you had not been so selfsh, your girlfriend's death would have been quick and
painless, but now that you've really pissed me off, I'm gonna fnish her nice and slow.
Green Goblin: [Green Goblin lunges forward, but Spider-Man blocks and pushes him into a brick
wall]
Green Goblin: We'll meet again, Spider-Man! (he leaves)
Spider-Man: [referring to the Green Goblin] Whoever he is, somebody has to stop him...
SCENE 5
Peter Parker: Hey, it's me again!
Mary Jane: Hey!
Peter Parker: How was your audition?
Mary Jane: How had you know?
Peter Parker: Your mom, told my aunt, told me.
Mary Jane: So you just came by?
Peter Parker: I was in the neighborhood, needed to see a friendly face. So how was it?
Mary Jane: Oh. They said I needed acting lessons. Can you believe that?
Peter Parker: Don't worry. Just forget it. Let me buy you a cheeseburger.
Mary Jane: [laughs] I'd like a cheeseburger.
Peter Parker: I want you to know, that I will always be there for you; I will always be there to take
care of you. I promise you that. I will always be your friend.
Mary Jane: Only a friend, Peter Parker?
Peter Parker: That's all I have to give...
(Green Goblin shows up)
ACTING CHOREOGRAPHY (Green Goblin traps Mary Jane, Parker
leaves and Spiderman shows up, fghts Green Goblin and catches
him in his net)
5. Mary Jane: You're amazing.
Spider-Man: Some people don't think so...
Mary Jane: But you are.
Spider-Man: Nice to have a fan...(Spiderman leaves carring Green Goblin)
Mary Jane: (to herself) He's saved my life and I've never even seen his face.
Peter Parker: (to himself) Not everyone is meant to make a difference. But for me, the choice to lead
an ordinary life is no longer an option. With great power comes great responsibility.
