With the brutal potential of World War II for chemical
warfare on American soil, an intriguing approach was
taken to get children to wear their terrifying gas masks.
With the approval of X himself, the Y gas mask was
imagined in 1942.
The small mask with its Y ears was meant to put children
at ease in an emergency situation.

1. In a small saucepan over medium, combine the brown sugar and water. Bring to
a gentle boil and cook, stirring often, until the mixture reads 240 F on a candy
thermometer.
2. Stir in the butter, salt, vinegar and 1/4 heavy cream. Set aside to cool to room
temperature.
3. Once the mixture has cooled, stir in the rum extract.
4. In a medium bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of the brown sugar mixture and the
remaining 1/2 cup of heavy cream. Use an electric mixer to beat until just
thickened, but not completely whipped, about 2 to 3 minutes.
5. To serve, divide the brown sugar mixture between 4 tall glasses (about 1/4 cup
for each glass). Add 1/4 cup of cream soda to each glass, then stir to combine.
Fill each glass nearly to the top with additional cream soda, then spoon the
whipped topping over each.

famous for tennis, is currently Pakistan's best pro
tennis player. He forms a bridge/link between
India and Pakistan in 2 remarkable ways.
One is that his maternal grandfather, Khawaja
Iftikhar Ahmed, was the national champion in
undivided India, from 1940-46, and played at
Wimbledon in ’39.

Sir Nicholas George Winton (1909 – 2015) was a
British humanitarian who organized the rescue of 669 children,
most of them Jewish, from Czechoslovakia on the eve of
the Second World War.
Winton found homes for the children and arranged for their safe
passage to Britain. The world found out about his work over 50
years later, in 1988. The British press dubbed him the "British X".
In 2003 Winton was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for "services to
humanity, in saving Jewish children from Nazi Germany occupied
Czechoslovakia”.

In a last minute appeal to the judge, who was enjoying a roasted
rooster for dinner at the time, the pilgrim boldly stated, "If I am
