Quantitative
Biology
Unites research in physics, mathematics,
and computational science to advance
biology and medicine.
9. Center for Excellence in
Wireless and Internet
Technology (CEWIT)
Allows Stony Brook faculty and Graduate
School students to conduct cutting edge
research in information and wireless
technology.
10. New Computer Science
Building
Houses the Computer Science Department, an
array of highly specialized labs: digital media,
light dome, sound booth, virtual reality, and
wireless sensor labs.
11. (Old) Computer Science
Building
Houses the Graduate School on the 2nd level,
Room 2401. Come here if you need to submit
any documents related to admissions,
graduation, or if you have questions about
degree progress.
12. Student Activities Center
Serves as the focal point of the University.
Houses lectures, conferences, movies, club
meetings, and various other events.
13. Frank Melville, Jr.
Memorial Library
Contains study rooms students can reserve,
SINC sites for printing, different religious
facilities, and computer and mobile device
support.
14. Staller Center for the Arts
Offers a wide variety of world class
performances in the arts such as theater,
music, and ballet.

Consortium:
Doctoral students in the college of Arts and Sciences have
the opportunity to join the Inter-university Doctoral
Consortium.
The Consortium allows College of Arts and Sciences doctoral
students to take classes at:
• Columbia University
• New York University
• City University of NY (CUNY)
• Fordham University
• Rutgers University
• New School University
• Princeton University
Students can develop an intellectual community at no

19. Long Island:
• A train ride away from NYC.

• Campus is located in the historic Three Village
Area.
• Surrounded by a variety of small towns with
beautiful 18th and 19th century American

• North and South forks are home to LI
vineyards which allow you to sample wine at
reasonable prices.
• The North fork has an amazing array of
organic farms that offer some of the best fruits,
vegetables, and homemade pies.
• Rocky Northshore Beaches are just a short
distance from campus.
• Sandy South Shore Beaches are top ranked
for surfing.
• Montauk Point State park is a great
destination for photographers and nature
lovers.
