Invisible Decrease:
1. Insert the hook into the FRONT loops only of the next 2 stitches. There will be 3
loops on your hook.
2. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops (the front 2 loops). 2 loops will remain on hook.
3. Yarn over again and pull through the 2 remaining loops. 1 loop will remain on hook.
Regular Decrease: A couple patterns use this technique for decreasing. Mainly when working
flat pieces and not in the round.
1. Insert the hook into the next stitch and yarn over. There will be 2 loops on your hook.
2. Inset the hook into the next stitch and yarn over again. This time there will be
3 loops on your hook.
3. Yarn over for the last time and pull through all 3 loops. 1 loop will remain on your hook.
Bobble Stitch:
1. Yarn over, insert hook into st, yarn over again and pull through. 3 loops will be on hook.
Yarn over and pull through 2. 2 loops will remain on hook.
2. Yarn over, insert hook into same st, yarn over and pull through. 4 loops on hook.
Yarn over pull through 2. 3 loops will remain on hook.
3. Repeat 3 more times until you have 6 loops left on your hook.
Yarn over and pull through all 6.

Pattern Notes and Helpful Tips:
Cleaner Color Changing Technique:
1. When working the last stitch of the old color, do the last single crochet, stopping when
you have 2 loops left on the hook.
2. Use the new color to yarn over and pull through the 2 loops to complete the stitch.
3. Slip stitch into the next stitch with the new color. The slip stitch counts as a stitch!
4. Continue to crochet with the new color. Make sure to secure the ends.
Adding a mouth:
Thread your embroidery needle with a medium length of embroidery floss, tie a knot on one end.
1. Bring the needle from the inside of the piece to the outside, near the safety eye on your left.
2. Go across to the right side and insert the needle into the piece. Be sure to not pull the thread all
the way through.
3. Hold the thread in a smile shape. Bring the needle up into the center of the mouth, making sure
to go one row down.
4. Pull thread down to create a “V” shape.
5. Insert the needle back into the piece, close to where it came out in Step 3.
6. Pull thread through to the inside of the piece and tie a knot to secure floss.
Adding eyelashes:
1. Thread your embroidery needle with a medium length of embroidery floss, tie a knot on one end.
2. Bring the needle from the inside of the piece to the outside, making sure your needle is as close
to the safety eye as possible.
3. Insert the needle back into the piece, making the lash as long as you’d like.
4. Bring the needle to the outside again and repeat Step 2 until you have made all the
lashes you want.
5. To finish, bring the needle to the inside of the piece and make a knot to secure floss.
Closing pieces:
With a yarn needle, weave needle through the front loops only of the remaining stitches, working from
the center to the outside. Once you have reached the end, pull the tail and the hole will close up. Insert
the needle into the center of hole, pull through and tie off.
Using hot glue:
The trick for using hot glue on the details for the minis is to go slow and add a very small amount at
a time. Adding too much then pressing the two pieces together causes the glue to come out the sides.
If there is only a little bit added, no glue will show.

Using orange yarn,
R1: 5 sc in magic ring. (5 sts)
R2: Inc in each st around. (10 sts)
R3: Sc 10.
R4: *Sc 1, inc* 5 times. (15 sts)

Change to gray yarn,
R7: Sc 20.
R9-17: Sc 25.
Add face circle, inserting the eyes between rounds
12&13, about 3 stitches apart and add backings.
With tail, sew face circle onto rocket.

Begin adding fiberfill and continue as you go.

Rocket 01/100
Face Circle
Using white yarn,
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing.
Add safety eyes between rounds 2&3, placing
them about 4 stitches apart when counting
from left to right. Don’t secure the eyes just yet!
Sew on mouth.
Materials
Yarn- Gray, white, orange and blue
Size E/3.5mm crochet hook
6mm safety eyes
Embroidery floss- Black, red, orange

Approx 3.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide

Exhaust Pipes - (Make 3)
Using gray yarn,
R3: Sc 6.
With yarn needle, sew pipes to the bottom of
the rocket. Place them evenly around the base.
For the flames: Take 2 strands of each color
(red, yellow and orange) and use all 6 strands
of floss for each. With needle, weave through
the bottom of the exhaust pipe up through the
rocket. Secure with a knot and then pull floss
down to make sure it is secure and won’t come
out of the pipe. Then trim floss to desired
length. You can do this one color at a time.

Wings - (Make 3)
Using blue yarn,
R3: Sc 6.
R5: Sc 12.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Leave
unstuffed.
With yarn needle, sew wings to the rocket.
Attach starting at round 11 and ending near
round 16. For wings on the side, sew about
1-2 stitches away from white circle. For the
wing on the back, sew about 3 stitches
apart from the side ones.

Stick
Using white yarn,
R2-6: Sc 5.
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. Insert
the pipe cleaner into the stick. Insert the
remaining part of the pipe cleaner into the
corn dog. With yarn needle, sew the stick
to the corn dog.
Mustard
Using yellow yarn,
Ch 39 and fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing if
not using hot glue to attach to the corn dog. If
using hot glue, weave in ends. Add a little bit
of glue at a time and glue mustard into place.
Make sure to place in a squiggle line that goes
around the safety eyes.

Beak
Using dark gray yarn,
Ch 3, then in 2nd ch from hook hdc, dc. (2 sts)
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. With yarn
needle sew the beak to the head, in between the
eyes. Position so there is 1 stitch space on each side
of nose. Secure with a knot and hide tail inside head.

Using light gray yarn,

strand of light gray yarn and tie a knot on one
end. With yarn needle, sew the gray end of
the neck to the head.

Using black yarn,

With yarn needle, sew the neck to the body
using the black yarn tail. Sew neck to the
magic ring of the body.
Legs - (Make 2)
R2-10: Sc 5. Insert the pipe cleaner after
round 5 and crochet around it.
With yarn needle, sew the legs to the body.
Sew legs starting near rounds 9&10 of the
body about 2 stitches apart.

Wings - (Make 2)
Using black yarn,
R4: Sc 18.
R7: Sc 8.
Change to white yarn,
R8: Sc 8.
R9: Inv dec 3 times, sl st 1.
With a length of black yarn, tie a knot on one
end. We’ll be using this to sew the wing to the
body. Insert needle into the body to secure
yarn. Then, attach the wing to the side of the
body, starting near rounds 7&8. Only sew
about a third of the wing to the body.
Tail
Using white yarn,
Change to black yarn,
R4: Sc 18.
R7: Sc 8.
R8: Inv dec 3 times, sl st 1.
With yarn needle, sew the black tip of
the tail to the very tip of the ostrich body.

Pimento Pepper
Using red yarn,
Sl st into 1st sc to fasten off. Leave a tail for sewing to
the top of the olive. Alternatively, you can weave in
ends and add a small dot of hot glue to attach instead.
Olive 04/100
Olive
Using olive green yarn,
R4-9: Sc 15.
Materials
Yarn- Olive green and red
6mm safety eyes
Fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle
Optional- hot glue gun

Pretzel 05/100
Pretzel
Using light brown yarn,
R2-52: Sc 8.
Add fiberfill as you go, making sure to not add
too much so it can still bend. Add safety eyes,
placing one between rounds 41&42 and the
second between rounds 44&45. Sew on mouth.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Bend into a pretzel shape. The end with the
eyes will go on top. Sew this end in place first,
near rounds 22-24. Then sew the other end
in place near rounds 29-31. Weave the yarn
needle over to that end to sew in place. Finally,
weave the vneedle up to the point where the
ends cross and sew those together.
With white embroidery floss and needle, sew
little knots all over for the salt. I simply tied a
knot a few times to make it big enough to look
like salt. If you’re familiar with making french
knots, that will work too.

loops only. Make a line going down to round 7, the
other round worked through the back loops. Make
6 lines total. These will make the “cuts” along the
top of the diamond.

Next, make a line going from one of the lines
that ended on round 7 all the way down to the
tip. You’ll want to insert the needle directly into
the middle of round 17. Continue weaving and
making lines until you have 6 total. Secure tail
with a knot and hide inside diamond.

and the body. Once finished, secure with a knot and hide
inside body.

the other eye, stitch a sideways “V”. Sew on
mouth. With white floss, sew 6 lines evenly
around, starting from the edge of the white
center and going towards the edge of the
lime green. Next backstitch a white line all
the way around the edge, right next to the
front loops from round 6.

Yarn- White, lime green, and a slightly darker

DangoDumpling 09/100
Dumplings - (Make 3, one in each color)
Using colored yarn,
R4-6: Sc 18.
Fasten off and leave a tail (only for the pink and
white dumpling!) For green dumpling, weave
in end.
With yarn needle, use the pink tail to sew the
pink dumpling to the white one. Then use the
white tail to sew the white dumpling to the
green one.
Materials
Yarn- Pink, white, green and tan
6mm safety eyes- 3 pairs

Pipe cleaner- measuring 1.75 inches

Stick
Using tan yarn,
R2-6: Sc 5.
Insert pipe cleaner into stick. A little will stick out
at the top- insert this end into the green dumpling.
With yarn needle, sew stick to dumpling.

LadyBug 10/100
Shell
Using red yarn,
R5-7: Sc 24.
Materials
Yarn- Red and black
6mm safety eyes
White embroidery floss and needle
Fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle
Black and white felt
Hot glue gun
Approx 1 inch tall, 2.5 inches long and
1.5 inches wide
Belly
Using black yarn,
This next round will make the legs.
R4: *Sc 2, ch 3 then in 2nd ch from hook sc in each
ch across (2 sts), sl st back into the original sc, inc in
the next st* 6 times.
Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing. With
yarn needle, sew belly to the shell. Weave needle
through the back loops from round 7 of the shell
and between rounds 3&4 of belly for a cleaner
finish. Add fiberfill. Before finishing, use the tail to
make a black line going down the center of the
shell. Secure with a knot and hide inside body.
Cut 6 small circles out of black felt. Use hot glue to
place them evenly on the shell, 3 per side.

Head
Using black yarn,
R4+5: Sc 15.
Cut 2 small circles out of white felt and cut a
very small slit into the middle. Insert the safe-
ty eye into the slit then add to head between
rounds 4&5, placing them about 3 stitches
apart. Sew on mouth- either a frown or a smile!
Fasten off and weave in end. Keep tail and
use it to sew the head to the shell.

Fasten off and leave an extra long tail for create
the “bumps”.
For the bumps- Make bumps by weaving the
yarn needle in random spots over pickle. Go
over the same spot about 4 times to build it up
so you can see it on the surface of the pickle.

Lid
Using white yarn,
Fasten off and leave a tail for sewing. With
yarn needle, sew the lid to the inside of the
