IOT BASED INTELLIGENT BABY CARE SYSTEM WITH A
WEB APPLICATION FOR BABY MONITORING.

I. INTRODUCTION
Today’s lifestyle is fast paced. Most of the
working parents find a bit difficult to manage
work along with babysitting. They cannot keep
an eye on their child all the time and is hard after
long working hours. To sooth the baby by
manually swinging the cradle might not be
possible in such case. If they have taken help of
babysitter for it then also baby’s safety related
thoughts keep going in their minds. Hence there
is need of product which bridges this gap
between parents and baby. This cradle system is
proposed to help these parents, so that they can
take good care of their baby. This cradle system
consists of following points.
1. Automatic swinging of cradle starts on the
detection of baby cry sound.
2. Sounds an alarm and sends an alert on the
web page when baby does not stop crying after
specific time.
3. Sends an alert if mattress is wet. The bed wet
alarm is useful to keep healthy environment near
baby and the second alarm is useful to give
attention whenever baby needs. This information
can be transmitted to web page through cloud
server with the help of an App. The benefit of
such alert is that the parent can get to know
baby status anywhere, anytime because of
internet.
Abstract:
This paper presents an idea to design a Smart Cradle System using IOT which will help the Parents to monitor their
child even if they are away from home & detect every activity of the Baby from any distant corner of the world. It
is an innovative, smart & protective Cradle System to nurture an infant in an efficient way. This system considers
all the minute details required for the care & protection of the Baby in the cradle.

As we are very well familiar with the hurdles
faced by Parents to nurture their infant and
especially in case if both the Parents are
working. To give 24 hours of time in such cases
is next to impossible. Thus, we need to develop
something unique that can help Parents to have a
continuous surveillance/watch on the
Baby/Infant and can notify about the same.
Thus, we have come up with an idea to design a
Smart Cradle System using IOT which will help
the Parents to monitor their child even if they are
away from home & detect every activity of the
Baby from any distant corner of the world.
II. EXISTING SYSTEM
In this existing system Multiple sensor are used
to know the condition of baby but that will
restrict in particular space where if any problem
the parents have to be in that space and they will
check the condition of baby manually.
III. PROPOSED METHOD
In this newly proposed system, both the sensors
and forecasting cloud is used, so that resulting
data will have high accuracy about the baby’s
condition, also we are using surveillance of the
baby using camera from a Wide Area Network
(WAN) which can be viewed in the Web
Application of parents phone and also can
control the situation from a remote area
anywhere from the world.

In this project MCP3008 is used, so to connect
3.3v pin from the raspberry pi to all sensors
Similarly MCP3008 and all sensor’s and ground
pins should be grounded

Now connect the sensor’s output pins to each
channels of MCP3008 (ex: LM-35 to channel 0,
HUMIDITY to channel 1 and the SOUND
sensor to channel 2 of MCP3008)
Connect USB web camera with raspberry pi
Connect the power supply for Raspberry pi
Plug the HDMI cable in Raspberry pi from the
monitor system using VGA to HDMI converter
cable
Connect USB Mouse and the USB keyboard to
the Raspberry pi system.

VII. CONCLUSION
According to the IOT based system it analyses
the baby’s Activities with Video Enhancement
and Instant WEB Application Notification for
Better Monitoring of Baby. Atomization of
System with Real-Time Database system in the
cloud server, accurate sensors make the
monitoring of the baby easy.
