A city-size shrine to the
Renaissance, Florence offers
frescoes, sculptures, churches,
palaces, and many other
monuments from the richest
cultural flowering the world has
known.
Names from its dazzling historical
past— Dante, Michelangelo,
Galileo, Machiavelli—are some of
the most resonant of the medieval
age. But to see the Tuscan capital
simply as Europe’s preeminent
city of art would be to ignore not
only its role as a dynamic and
cosmopolitan metropolis, but also
to overlook its more unsung
charms—Italy’s most visited
gardens (and its best ice-cream
parlor), idyllic strolls on balmy
summer evenings, a broad range
of specialty shopping, sweeping
views over majestic city- scapes,
eating experiences that range
from historic cafés to the
country’s most highly rated
restaurants, and the kind of
seductive and romantic pleasures
that somehow only Italy knows
how to provide.

You might get the impression it's
dedicated exclusively to hedonism,
but it's a hard-working, dynamic place
hoping to place itself in the vanguard of
21st-century Europe with a heavy
concentration of hi-tech, and tourism
business.
Its old centre constitutes one of the greate
concentrations of Gothic architecture in
Europe. Beyond this core are some of
the world's more bizarre buildings: surreal
spectacles capped by Antoni Gaudí's
Sagrada Família church.
Barcelona has been breaking ground in art
architecture and style since the late
19th century.
Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia,
a region with its own language, character
and history – many Catalans think of their
home as a separate country.
The city itself could keep you occupied
for weeks but just outside it are sandy
beaches, Sitges and the Montserrat
mountain range.

London, the capital of Great Britain,
is also one of the world's capitals of
finance, fashion, arts and entertainment.
The city has a recorded history dating
back to Roman times and encompassing
the lives of such illustrious political
figures as William the Conqueror,
Thomas à Becket, and Queen Elizabeth I,
as well as those of William Shakespeare,
John Milton, and the other authors
who created one of the world's great
bodies of literature. Formerly the heart
of a vast empire, London was also a
center of the Industrial Revolution.
Whether you realize it or not, London
shapes your destiny.
London is inexhaustible. You could
tour it for months and barely get to
know it. Few cities support such a
variety of people living in remarkable
harmony. That diversity makes London
like a cut diamond; approach it from
a different angle each day, and it
presents an entirely fresh shape and
color. From famous stories to high style,
London is many things in every moment.

deep understanding of the different
approaches to drawing, using
different materials, copying old Italian
Masters drawings, or drawing from
architectural interiors, landscape, still
life, the human figure and from perso-

and composition.

  • 6. A city-size shrine to the Renaissance, Florence offers frescoes, sculptures, churches, palaces, and many other monuments from the richest cultural flowering the world has known. Names from its dazzling historical past— Dante, Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli—are some of the most resonant of the medieval age. But to see the Tuscan capital simply as Europe’s preeminent city of art would be to ignore not only its role as a dynamic and cosmopolitan metropolis, but also to overlook its more unsung charms—Italy’s most visited gardens (and its best ice-cream parlor), idyllic strolls on balmy summer evenings, a broad range of specialty shopping, sweeping views over majestic city- scapes, eating experiences that range from historic cafés to the country’s most highly rated restaurants, and the kind of seductive and romantic pleasures that somehow only Italy knows how to provide. 6

BARCELONA - SPAIN - You might get the impression it's dedicated exclusively to hedonism, but it's a hard-working, dynamic place hoping to place itself in the vanguard of 21st-century Europe with a heavy concentration of hi-tech, and tourism business. Its old centre constitutes one of the greate concentrations of Gothic architecture in Europe. Beyond this core are some of the world's more bizarre buildings: surreal spectacles capped by Antoni Gaudí's Sagrada Família church. Barcelona has been breaking ground in art architecture and style since the late 19th century. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, a region with its own language, character and history – many Catalans think of their home as a separate country. The city itself could keep you occupied for weeks but just outside it are sandy beaches, Sitges and the Montserrat mountain range. - - BARCELONA - SPAIN You might get the impression it's dedicated exclusively to hedonism, but it's a hard-working, dynamic place hoping to place itself in the vanguard of 21st-century Europe with a heavy concentration of hi-tech, and tourism business. The city has a recorded history dating back to Roman times and encompassing the lives of such illustrious political figures as William the Conqueror, Thomas à Becket, and Queen Elizabeth I, as well as those of William Shakespeare, John Milton, and the other authors who created one of the world's great bodies of literature. Formerly the heart of a vast empire, London was also a center of the Industrial Revolution. Whether you realize it or not, London shapes your destiny. London is inexhaustible. You could tour it for months and barely get to know it. Few cities support such a variety of people living in remarkable harmony. That diversity makes London like a cut diamond; approach it from a different angle each day, and it presents an entirely fresh shape and color. From famous stories to high style, London is many things in every moment. - London, the capital of Great Britain, is also one of the world's capitals of finance, fashion, arts and entertainment.
