NASSCOM Education Summit 2014
The NASSCOM Education Summit – 2014
The NASSCOM Education Summit was held on 18th of July, 2014 at EZCC, Salt Lake City, Kolkata, with the objective to create an opportunity for students to listen, participate and actively engage themselves with the iconic people and thought leaders of the industry. Focusing on the three E’s to success (Education, Employability, Entrepreneurship), the event was held parallel to the NASSCOM Product Conclave (Kolkata Chapter) and encouraged entrepreneurship in students by motivating them to create employability skills and get the latest technology trends, industry insights, requirements and expectations.
This is the first time an education summit was held in the eastern region of the country. With over 1250 registrations by students and academia, the response was overwhelming and the event was a huge success!
The event started off with a very interesting and interactive workshop on “Employability Skills” by Dr. Paresh Joshi, Director (Academic), Station eLanguage Labs. The workshop focused on developing communication skills and improving pronunciation of English Language.
It was followed by a CEO journey panel moderated by Mr. Ganesh V, a marketing professional, mentor to entrepreneurs and author. The CEOs in the panel were, Mr. Abhishek Rungta (Indus Net Technologies), Mr. Srish Agrawal (A1 Future Technologies), Mr. Bimal Patwari (Pinnacle Infotech Solutions) and Mr. Atul Gupta (InSync Solutions).
There were other inspirational and motivational talks by eminent people like Mr. R Chandrashekhar (President, NASSCOM), Mr. Navaneet Mishra (Country Director, Hexagon Capability Center), Ajoy Kumar Roy (Director, IIEST, Shibpur), Rajiv Vaishnav (Vice President, NASSCOM) and Mr. Deepak Ghaisas (Chairman, Gencoval Strategic Services).

Students from various institutions across India participated in the two competitions: Business Plan Competition and Idea to Prototype Competition. We received over 100 entries from about 45+ institutions and with the help of the jury 10 teams for each competition were selected for the semifinals.
On 17th July the Semifinal was held in Hyatt where the teams gave their presentations and 5 teams from each category were selected for the Final Event.
