Arterial
Pulse?
• The arterial pulse is the
abrupt ‘expansion’ of an
artery resulting from the
sudden ‘ejection’ of blood
into the aorta and its
‘transmission’ throughout
the arterial system.

between systolic and
dystolic pressure
(120-80=40mm of Hg)
What is
Pulse
Pressure?
It can be felt as a throb or a pulse in the arteries

7.  Stroke volume: Directly Proportional
 Elasticity of arteries: Inversely Proportional,
from aorta to peripheral arteries: Elasticity decreases
and P.P increases.
