• Supplier : Organisation or person
that provides a product.
• Customer : Organisation or person
that receives a product.
• Interested Party : Person or Group
having an interest in performance or
success of an organisation.
SYSTEM
Set of interrelated or interacting elements.
Management : direct / coordinate the activities and control
an organisation.
Management System :
System to establish policy and objectives
And to achieve those objectives.
Quality Management System :
Management system to direct and control an organisation
with regard to quality.

audit criteria are fulfilled .”

Audit is not a fault finding activity ,it is a fact
finding activity
FUNCTION OF AUDIT
• 1 CONFIRMATION : The classic role of a
program is to verify or confirm a plant’s
performance with various rules.
• 2 IDENTIFICATION :Identification of areas of
weakness .
TYPES OF AUDIT
• 1ST PARTY AUDIT : Carried out within the company by
internal auditors to ensure that the company can
maintain and improve the performance and the QMS.
2ND PARTY AUDIT : Carried out by parties having an
interest in the organisation, such as customers on
suppliers or by other persons on their behalf .
3 RD PARTY AUDIT : Carried out by an independent
certification body in order to certify a company that
the system meets the requirements of ISO 9001.
AUDIT STAGES
• 1 DOCUMENTATION AUDIT: To examine whether
the required documentation has been prepared
as per the requirements of the standard .
• 2 COMPLIANCE AUDIT: To examine whether the
documentation system implemented and is
effective .
• 3 CERTIFICATION AUDIT : The certification body is
an organisation accredited by the accreditation
body to offer certification of management
systems .
• 4 SURVEILLANCE AUDIT:
