Production Process Evaluation
Research
• The strengths of my research is everything was very easy to find as there is
a lot about video game. There are tons of websites and images to get
video game information from as video games are a very popular thing to
do. My research helped my product to have facts and I was able to double
check if they were true or not. This made my magazine a lot easier to
make as I could write about a video game with ease. There was no
weaknesses towards my research as everything was easy to find and easy
to get the right information to put into the magazine. I looked at a ton of
other magazine covers as I wanted to make sure there was no other design
like mine.
Planning
• The planning was very easy as I play video games myself so know a lot of
the news happening around them. At the time I was already making the
drawing of what the cover is so I was already half way done before even
starting. My weaknesses of planning was I wasn’t really thinking about
how I was going to make the inside cover so in comparison to the cover
the inside looks very simple. I could have planned the inside more to make
the inside better than it is. I wanted to make sure that the cover was mine
and it didn’t look like any others. Making my own design was a key feature
I wanted to do as no magazine I have seen have done that.
Time Management
• I managed my time well as I managed to get the cover and inside finished
with time to spare. If I had longer time I would hand draw all of the inside
pages. Having more time would have made the outcome a lot better as it
would have given me more time to plan the inside pages and make them
better.
Technical Qualities
Similarities:
Both are about
gaming. Both
show the title
at the top of
the magazine.
Differences:
My cover is hand
drawn whereas
the real one isnt.
More writing on
the real one then
my product. My
cover shows what
consoles are
covered whereas
the real one
doesn’t. the real
one has more
information on
the magazine
then mine does.
Differences: adds a free gift inside of the magazine on the real one
where mine doesn’t have one. The real one has a barcode whereas
mine doesn’t. the real one adds an also inside feature whereas mine
doesnt
Aesthetic Qualities
The gaming cover looks great and is very creative. I enjoy the entire front cover as it was hand
drawn. I wouldn’t improve it as I finished it the best of my ability and like how it turned out.
The inside pages look nice but could be improved in comparison to the inside cover. I like the
colour combination. I would improve the inside by hand drawing the pictures to make it more
like the cover. I used a retro style which I think went well with the overall product.
Audience Appeal
My target audience is aimed towards
anyone who enjoyed video games. I
have achieved this as my magazine
was all about video games and
information about it. All of my
magazine will appeal towards my
audience as it is all video game
related.
My magazine include popular
video game characters such as
sonic, mario and d.va. The inside
pages include the most popular
game to this date fortnite which
attracts a ton of people who
enjoy video games.

– I like the drawing aspect to show that it is unique and
isn’t copied

– The inside pages don’t look as appealing as the front
cover does as the front cover was drawn and the
inside looks rushed

– I like the colours to catch the eye of the buying with
the use of popular characters to draw in the audience.

– The characters that are chosen seem a bit random and
unorganised. Try putting them in a place more
suitable next to each other

– I like the art style for the front cover and how it is
done with a bunch of random characters.

– The inside pages could have more detail and attention
put towards them as it’s the main focus of the
magazine.

– I agree with the inside pages do look not up to par
with the front cover as the front cover is drawn the
only way to make it up to ar is to draw all the pages.

feedback?
– I disagree that I should organise my characters and the
entire point of the cover is a random splash of
characters to suit everybody's different gaming style.

– The changes I would make to my product are:
– Drawing the inside pages to match with the cover
as the inside pages look plain in comparison.
– Place more pictures of characters in the inside
page to give it more detail than paragraphs of
detail that will bore a lot of people.
– mess around with colours as the red gradient is
nice but could look better with different colours
added or a different colour in general.

  • 3. Research • The strengths of my research is everything was very easy to find as there is a lot about video game. There are tons of websites and images to get video game information from as video games are a very popular thing to do. My research helped my product to have facts and I was able to double check if they were true or not. This made my magazine a lot easier to make as I could write about a video game with ease. There was no weaknesses towards my research as everything was easy to find and easy to get the right information to put into the magazine. I looked at a ton of other magazine covers as I wanted to make sure there was no other design like mine.
  • 4. Planning • The planning was very easy as I play video games myself so know a lot of the news happening around them. At the time I was already making the drawing of what the cover is so I was already half way done before even starting. My weaknesses of planning was I wasn’t really thinking about how I was going to make the inside cover so in comparison to the cover the inside looks very simple. I could have planned the inside more to make the inside better than it is. I wanted to make sure that the cover was mine and it didn’t look like any others. Making my own design was a key feature I wanted to do as no magazine I have seen have done that.
  • 5. Time Management • I managed my time well as I managed to get the cover and inside finished with time to spare. If I had longer time I would hand draw all of the inside pages. Having more time would have made the outcome a lot better as it would have given me more time to plan the inside pages and make them better.
  • 6. Technical Qualities Similarities: Both are about gaming. Both show the title at the top of the magazine. Differences: My cover is hand drawn whereas the real one isnt. More writing on the real one then my product. My cover shows what consoles are covered whereas the real one doesn’t. the real one has more information on the magazine then mine does. Differences: adds a free gift inside of the magazine on the real one where mine doesn’t have one. The real one has a barcode whereas mine doesn’t. the real one adds an also inside feature whereas mine doesnt
  • 7. Aesthetic Qualities The gaming cover looks great and is very creative. I enjoy the entire front cover as it was hand drawn. I wouldn’t improve it as I finished it the best of my ability and like how it turned out. The inside pages look nice but could be improved in comparison to the inside cover. I like the colour combination. I would improve the inside by hand drawing the pictures to make it more like the cover. I used a retro style which I think went well with the overall product.
  • 8. Audience Appeal My target audience is aimed towards anyone who enjoyed video games. I have achieved this as my magazine was all about video games and information about it. All of my magazine will appeal towards my audience as it is all video game related. My magazine include popular video game characters such as sonic, mario and d.va. The inside pages include the most popular game to this date fortnite which attracts a ton of people who enjoy video games.

Feedback 1 • What did you like about the product? – I like the drawing aspect to show that it is unique and isn’t copied • What improvements could have been made to the product? – The inside pages don’t look as appealing as the front cover does as the front cover was drawn and the inside looks rushed

Feedback 2 • What did you like about the product? – I like the colours to catch the eye of the buying with the use of popular characters to draw in the audience. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – The characters that are chosen seem a bit random and unorganised. Try putting them in a place more suitable next to each other

Feedback 3 • What did you like about the product? – I like the art style for the front cover and how it is done with a bunch of random characters. • What improvements could have been made to the product? – The inside pages could have more detail and attention put towards them as it’s the main focus of the magazine.

Peer Feedback Summary • What do you agree with from your peer feedback? – I agree with the inside pages do look not up to par with the front cover as the front cover is drawn the only way to make it up to ar is to draw all the pages. • What do you disagree with from your peer feedback? – I disagree that I should organise my characters and the entire point of the cover is a random splash of characters to suit everybody's different gaming style.
  • 14. Peer Feedback Summary – The changes I would make to my product are: – Drawing the inside pages to match with the cover as the inside pages look plain in comparison. – Place more pictures of characters in the inside page to give it more detail than paragraphs of detail that will bore a lot of people. – mess around with colours as the red gradient is nice but could look better with different colours added or a different colour in general.
