1. New friendships
During the month of
October 2011 I
participated with Mrs.
Sabina Teodorescu at the
"Comenius" project,
which had the first
destination and starting
point the city of Zagreb,
Croatia. It was one small
step for a large project.
We arrived safely in the
old, but beautiful city,
where we were greeted
warmly by our hosts,
Gabrijela and Dubrovka, the two promoters of the project. From the first day I was able to
know almost all the participants and I managed to get closer to girls from Czech Republic
(Lucinka, Sarah and Monča ).
Our program was quite busy, with several workshops, where we where
realationating in English, both students and teachers. I was privileged to participate at
teachers ‘s workshop ,because our delegation was smaller than the others. It was very
interesting how our hosts combined useful with pleasure and prepared many surprises. So
I visited the historic city center, with wonderful artfacts, Mirogoj cemetery, where even if
you feel like visiting a cemetery is something sinister, it is unique and a true architectural
masterpiece. We received a warm welcome from the mayor when we visited the hall and
toured the city, we tasted the local goodies, namely desert Štrukli and I attended a dinner
where we were delighted by traditional folk music bands, specific to that region. I noticed
that they still keeping the traditions alive.
Even if my passion isn’t history, the city’s historical significance in those days was
impressive.I have never participated in such projects and I have reached a multicultural and
paradoxical conclusion, namely, I found myself very well in Turkish culture, although I have
never visited Turkey.
I have to thank those who thought in me and sent me to participate in this project
because I lived a new experience, I have opened new horizonts. There are things that can’t
be described in words, but I want that every student can participate in this activity.
