Job Location: Benicia, CA (Great SF – Bay Area)
Reports To: SVP of Marketing
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Manager of Marketing will lead marketing efforts with a focus on consumer publications,
community marketing and grassroots events, public relations, content development and social media to drive
traffic to physical stores. She/He will play a significant role in developing the Cycle Gear Racing and
Motorcycle Safety support initiatives into high profile programs within the industry. She/He will also be
responsible for working with the Marketing Team on brand positioning along with developing and executing an
integrated marketing strategy and coordinated vision that maximizes the synergies between the “bricks and
mortar” and online retail stores. This Manager will also play a significant role in defining communication
marketing strategies for the company’s line of “own brands.” In addition to providing leadership to the
Marketing team, this individual will build and maintain strong collaborative partnerships with Visual
Merchandising, Creative, Retail Operations, Online, Product Development, Planning and Allocation,
Merchandising and Finance teams.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute overall marketing strategies and initiatives designed to build store and online
traffic that enable the company to achieve its growth and earnings objectives.
Build Cycle Gear’s non-direct communication strategy, calendar of content and contact plans.
Develop the next generation Cycle Gear Racing and Motorcycle Safety Support programs.
Collaborate with eCommerce Director on development of e-mail calendar content and execution.
Lead store community marketing programs, local promotions and events.
Build projections for the Return on Investment and then track, analyze and report ROI results from all
marketing promotions and initiatives.
Maximize new customer acquisition and customer segmentation while improving customer loyalty and
brand awareness.
Capture and synthesize competitor, consumer, industry and business insights to identify major
opportunities and threats.
Develop and manage Marketing budget and plan including expenses for advertising and creative
services for all non-eCommerce marketing channels.
Manage production of all marketing materials including: catalogs, direct marketing pieces, store window
graphics, interior graphics and visuals, special holiday/seasonal collateral pieces, in-store imagery, “own
brand” product packaging, magazine advertising and in-store sign packages.
Develop and manage in-store marketing programs, for company’s “own brand” product
2. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A minimum of 8+ years of experience driving marketing strategy in a multi-store/multi-channel retail
environment is required.
Background with bricks and mortar / multi-channel marketing leadership through -marketing
communications, social media, content marketing and community marketing programs is required.
Track record of building and executing effective content programs leveraging digital and traditional
media.
Proven strong analytical experience in measuring ROI results of all marketing and advertising
campaigns including the use of CRM programs is needed.
Experience “own brand” brand management and development is preferred.
Track record of building relationships that fosters buy-in and cooperation with senior executives,
department heads and field teams.
Natural team coach that will develop skills and discipline to execute with a high degree of energy and
innovation.
Proven ability to understand customers and markets and translate those needs into long-term business
strategies and initiatives.
Public and press relations experience is desirable
History of leading a team in a way that establishes a positive, pro-active, team-oriented and
collaborative culture.
Bachelor’s degree and MBA preferred.
