1. Reflection Journal

2. Week One
In the first week of my FMP I was able to complete my pre-proposal, proposal and
fmp context. It made me to have a clearer vision on my product that I am creating
and it allowed me to think more about what I want to do with the product and how
I am going to achieve this. . The product that I am creating for my fmp is a clothing
brand that I am going to market. This project is important to me because I am into
fashion and I am creative so it all links in well together for me to design my own
brand also another reason on why it is important to me is because I enjoy
marketing so all these different elements link into together. The skills that I have in
order to produce the product is that I can use photo shop to create logos and
previously before I have designed my own t-shirts a few years ago so I already have
this experience. Another skill I have is that I have created social media pages and
websites before whether it is for personal use or for a business. so this is going to
help me with my fmp when it comes to creating pages for the brand and promoting
the product. I think an area that I need to build confidence in is trying out new
skills in photoshop because even though I can use it at a good level already I need
to try and push myself and make my designs the best I possibly can and push the
boundaries and to go outside my comfort zone which will make my work a lot
better as I am trying new things and learning more/

3. Week Two
This week I will be working be continuing to work on my research. This will include looking
at existing products in more detail. i have already looked at some existing products of
advertising products however this week i am going to look at some website layouts of
different brands and analyse them. As well i will also be looking at the social medias of
brands and see what they have in common. i will be looking at the brands logo's headers
and looking at the conventions. From my research so far I have been looking at existing
products of print advertisement products and i have learnt that they tend to be very plain
and simple with not too much information on the page and they mainly contain a picture
of a model wearing the product. the brands name / logo and some information on the
bottom of the page. I have also looked into the history of streetwear and looked at the
history of when each brand started up so this helps me to see how streetwear has
developed throughout time.in my research I have used secondary research as I have been
looking into the history of streetwear so I was able to find all this online. I have also done
research into the different streetwear brands such as supreme, fear of god and Yeezys so I
have used secondary research for this as it was all available to find online and I didn't
have any need to do primary research so not only would it be a waste of time it would
also be a waste of information as I would have no use for it. in my second week of
research I will be looking at different streetwear brands business cards. I will be looking
at their websites and social media I wouldn't of thought I would run into many problems
analysing these unless i can't find any products to analyse which I highly doubt will be the
case. I will also be looking into the designs and marketing of the brand to see if people
buy the brand because they like the clothes or because of how good they market the
products and the fact that its more for status rather than they like the designs

4. Week Three
I think so far in my research some strengths are I have looked clearly into the market
and found where the market gap is. This is a strength of my research because it allows me to
see where my competition is and it allows me to find where there is a gap in the market which
will allow my product to be unique and it will allow me product to stand out from the others.
I think another strength of my research is that I have looked into the different competition
out there and wrote about the brands. I have also looked into the whole history of streetwear
to get a better understanding and to see how it has changed throughout time. I think some
areas I need to work on still is to analyse some products as I haven't done much of this as
I don’t want to copy other brands designs I want to make my products look original however I
think it will be beneficial to look at different advertising campaigns. my research will help me
in my production as the market map has helped me find a specific gap in the market so
when creating my product I will have to think about how I can make my product be specific to
this market gap. Looking at different brands would of helped me to realise what has worked
for them and what will work for me when it comes to advertising and creating campaigns.

5. Week Four
So far within my research the problems that have thought about are theoretical problems and
practical problems. some of the theoretical problem I have thought about are the location as if I
am filming outside the weather may not be the best and this could affect my final product. I also
thought about equipment as I could have some problems if the SD card corrupts or camera stops
working. I also thought about practical problems where I thought about models incase they can't
make it to the shoot. The biggest problem I think I will come across is not being able to use
software as I am thinking about using adobe illustrator and since I have never used this software
before this is going to be challenging and even if I use photoshop since I haven't done photo
manipulation before. to overcome this problem I am going to practise photo manipulation using
photoshop and also I will practise it on after affects. I think other problem solving I will have to
do is designing logos and designing a website for the brand. I think we are doing problem solving
because it helps when it comes to the final product as already we have practised the techniques.
I think my greatest strength for this project is I have a good understanding about what I have
chosen for my product. This will help me because having a good understanding will help me know
how I can make my product better.

6. Week Five
Last week I looked into what photo manipulation was as this is what I will be doing
when it comes to my final product. I also went out and took some photos that I can
then use in photoshop and edit the logos and the t-shirts designs onto the photos that
I took. Last week from my experiments I learnt how to do photo manipulation. I learnt
how to put designs on to t-shirts and to make them look effective and to make them
look like the photos were actually taken with the logo already printed on the shirt and
not like it has been edited on. Also within my experiments I learnt how to use adobe
after illustrator and this helps because it means I will be able to design my logo and
to create my t-shirt designs using illustrator. These have helped influence my project
because it has allowed me to see what is possible and how I can actually make my
work the best that I possibly can. before production I don't think there is anything else
that I need to learn however I would say that I need to practise the techniques that I
have learned such as the photo manipulation putting photos onto the t-shirt and also
in adobe illustrator practising designing logos. This isn't essential however it will make
the outcome of my product better.

7. Week Six
I feel pretty prepared for my production next week. I have a clear idea on what I am going to do and I know
how I am going to achieve this so I feel pretty confident that I'll be ready in time as long as I finish my
planning in time whether this means I need to come into college for an extra day or two or even whether
this means that I need to work from home but either way I feel like I should be ready and if I feel like I'm
running out of time then I will do the extra work when I can to catch up so I am ready to start my
production. This week with my planning I have looked at different colour schemes that use for my designs,
use for the garments or use for the social media pages. I have also looked at different fonts and wrote about
in which product the font will be used for and why I think it. I made a mood board to try and get across to
the audience what sort of style I'm going for and so it gives them a better understanding I also created some
layout designed for the products I am creating. I think my first week of planning went well and was fairly
productive although I would of liked to get more done I think the hardest part was just knowing what slides
I need and what I need to plan for so that I wasn’t keep repeating myself or that I wasn’t planning anything
that I don't need to and wasting my time. This week will impact my work as it will just allow me to finish off
my planning and get don’t everything that I need to finish which will then make my end product a lot
better. With my planning I still have to analyse more fonts and also a few colour schemes. I also need to
finish off my different layouts and plan the facilities as well as my stylesheet. I think the biggest threat to
my project right now is if I'm unable to get my take my photos. I.e. if the model doesn’t turn up etc. As
then this means that I'll have to wait and see if there is anything else I can work on.

8. Week Seven
I think the hardest part of my planning so far is knowing what to plan and
actually getting it down so people can see my thought process as I know what I
want to create and I know how I am going to do it however it's just getting this
across to people so it's clear to them from when they are reading my planning so
that they can also have a clearer idea on what I am planning to create. At the
moment I don’t think that I have planned that well. I feel like I could have added
a lot more detail to my planning and I need to plan more aspects of my work so
this week I will make sure that I focus on my planning in my free time as well as
focusing on the other tasks that I need to complete. I think in light of the current
situation I need to re-plan my work when it comes to facilities and equipment as
I have planned to do my work at college as I have the studio there, all the
equipment and the models that I need to use there so everything is in one
location however now due to the current situation and college closing I highly
doubt it will be open anytime soon so therefore I need to re-plan it as I will have
to try and do all the production from home and take me photos from home.
