Workshop Overview:
Workshop Description:
This workshop will focus on the customer service skills necessary to work with people
experiencing homelessness. An overview will be given of the roles & responsibilities of service
providers, communication & conflict resolution skills, boundaries & ethics, and power
relationships. This workshop is open to the public, and is geared toward direct service staff &
volunteers, and those interested in working or volunteering for homeless outreach and prevention
programs, emergency shelter and drop-in centers, and transitional & permanent supportive
housing programs. Clients of social service organizations will also be present to share their
experiences with customer service.
