STUDY TIPS
FOR KIDS
Study harder,
do better!
Parents and educators alike stick by this motto,
but how can kids study better? These ten tips
can help your kids be the best and brightest
they can be!
1
Be Organized
Keep a calendar of upcoming assignments
and prioritize your tasks. Make sure your
study area is free of clutter and distractons in
order to stay focused and more productive.
Develop a study schedule, and determine
what your goals are for each session.
Having a plan will help you to make the
most of your time.
Pick a Time
2
Go Beyond Homework
Practice tests tell you how much you know
or need to study and will also reinforce the
information in your head. The more you
practice, the more relaxed you will be when
you take the real test.
3
Be Bright
4 Make sure there is enough lighting so
that you aren’t struggling to see what
you are reading. More light will keep
you relaxed, alert, and focused.
Eliminate Distractions
5 Find a quiet study area and turn off
electronic devices to prevent any
potential disturbances.
Take Breaks
6 For every 45–50 minutes of studying,
take a 10–15 minute break to recharge.
Get Help
7 Take advantage of the people you
can ask for help. Teachers, tutors,
or parents can help explain
difficult concepts.
Be Prepared
8 Gather any pencils, papers, and
other supplies you may need
the day before the exam.
Get Active
9 During study breaks, get plenty of
physical activity.
Get Enough Sleep
10 Stick to the same bedtime each day
and get 7-9 hours of sleep. A nightly
routine, such as reading a book will
help you fall asleep.
