1. Reference Collection Evaluation
While evaluating the Reference Collection at RMS, I discovered that the most of the Collection is aged. The average age of the material is from
1997. However, after further discussion and research the Media Specialist and I decided that while there are a couple of items that could be
discarded the remaining needs to stay in the Collection. The majority of the print items in the Collection are Reference books that contain
information that will not be changing throughout the years.
I surveyed teachers on the Reference Collection. The Social Studies teachers responded that they needed more resources related to wars and
battles. They requested recent wars. I realized the collection did not need any materials related to the Civil War or the Revolutionary War.
I used Titlewave to order books and eBooks that I thought would supplement the Collection.
