2. RATIONALE
• The Development of Computer Program is a must for 21st
Century Workplace. The classroom is elevating from the
conventional blackboard to technologically advance tools to
easily take a fast result on different educational assessments
(English et.al, 2012).
• The educational assessment like multiple type of test
should make its way to become technological. The online test is
already rampant in different disciplines such as psychology,
management, business and as well as education centers.
3. RATIONALE
• The educational institutions should find ways to improved its
system to become technological and to join the vision of the
international educational organization to solve different
learning difficulties through a fast and reliable system
(Ziegenfuss, 2010).
• The Department of Education Region III through the Regional
Memorandum that Item Banking should have a system to
promote the management of items in the computer. The
Program should be friendly and easy to learn and should lessen
the paper works as the general advantage of computer program
in any forms of evaluation.
4. RATIONALE
• The Faculty will do the Item Banking for input it will process
with the computer assisted examination wherein the students
will answer the questions through the assistance of the
developed program. The results will be given to the students
and as well as to the students.
• The development of the program will be followed by a
validation and through the conceptual framework, the study
will give a view how the study will push through to validation.
5. OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
The study will focused on development of computer program for
Quarterly Assessments Activities on Senior High School Learning
Disciplines for the benefit of students and teachers in the
planning, implementation and evaluation of quarterly assessments
specifically in the Senior High School
• Objectives of the Study
The following objectives should have established:
• 1. To Develop a Computer Program for Quarterly Assessment
Activities
• 2. To Validate the Computer Program through
1.1. Expert Validation
1.2. Users Satisfaction
6. TYPE OF RESEARCH
• Gall, Borg, and Gall‘s (2003) educational research and
development (R & D) methodology was used in this
research. The development of an R & D dissertation must
be validated through a specific process. The steps of this
R & D process were followed very carefully. The R & D
consists of the Planning stage wherein it consider the
process of doing the system . The second part is the
development aspect it is a preparation for the system to
be validated by three experts. The last part which is the
validation stage consists of giving suggestions,
7. RESPONDENTS
• The Respondents for expert validators are ICT professor from
Holy Angel University, ICT Coordinator from DEPED Angeles
City and one representative from another school ICT
Coordinator.
• The respondents for user’s satisfaction are 520 students and
12 Teachers of Angeles City Senior High School.
8. INSTRUMENT
• The validation of the computer program consists of
using a tool for expert validation on three ICT experts
and practitioners adopted on the survey expert
validation questionnaire by Gall, J., Borg, W., & Gall, M.
(2003) and Gay (2009) and a user satisfaction of
teachers and selected students is a 7 item statements
on satisfaction level on computer application adopted
on the study of Voilante & Vezzetti (2013).
9. RESULT
• Table 1 shows the expect validation on planning design and format. The
expert in terms of inclusion of important components got a score of 4.67
with verbal interpretation of outstanding, while development of objectives
(4.33), organization of information (4.33) and design and format (4.33) got
a verbal interpretation of very good. Over-all experts validation is 4.42 or
very good.
• First expert said that “There should be record print reports wherein the
teacher can print all the subjects then can filter questions based on the level
of difficulty then can also be printed.” This statement fall under design and
format. Second expert suggest that “There should be a module in adding
sections so that the teacher can easily navigate and print all the results
based on section.” It is the same suggestion on the first expert. Third expert
said that “There should be option where in the teacher can upload excel or
any file format that questions with correct answer so that the teacher will
not type again the questions in the system.” The suggestions were improved
on the final output of the paper.
10. RESULT
• Table 2 shows the expert validation on content of the computer
system assessments. The impressive score on practicality of the
material (5.00), content based on current research (4.67), relevance
of the content (4.67) and the material provides new information
(4.67) got a verbal interpretation of outstanding. While the overall
content quality got a score of 4.33 or very good interpretation. Over-
all result of experts were outstanding (4.67).
• First expert said that the content of the computer system
assessments is very helpful “Storage of test items is the most helpful
and no manual checking of papers.” While second expert strongly
agreed that “The modules are properly working based on features.
System is easy to understand and use” and third expert that the

• Table 3 shows the expert validation on approach and
methodology. The present subject matter logically using
suitable and sufficient teaching aids (5.00), Involvement of
students in active learning through appropriate and adequate
activities, exercises and other experiences (5.00) and
Utilization of practical applications and real-life situations
whenever possible (5.00) got an impressive outstanding verbal
interpretation. Very good interpretation of experts were focus
on allowing the development of problem solving and social
skills (4.33), higher order skills and creativity (4.00) and
individual differences (4.33). The over-all impression that the
12. RESULT
• Table 4 shows the expert validation on assessment and
evaluation. In terms of target audience (5.00) and information
skills to be acquires (4.67) it marks on outstanding
interpretation. On the resources and constraints of the learning
situation, experts score was 4.00 it means very good
interpretation. Over-all results of the experts that the
assessment and evaluation was outstanding (4.56). The system
on this data is really helpful to the teachers and learners as
well.
13. RESULT
• Table 5 shows the users satisfaction on computer program for
quarterly assessment. They said that the application is outstandingly
innovative (4.59), provides content with appropriate level of
interactivity (4.78), The application provides content that exactly
fitted your needs (4.56), and the application increases the interest,
attention and concentration to the activity (4.89). While users were
very satisfied on the easy to use program (4.20), and it stimulates the
development of intellectual skills. Over-all the users of the program
is outstandingly satisfied on the program.
14. DISCUSSION
• The technicalities and the suggestion of the experts is aligned
to Violante and Vezzetti (2013) that every program should
undergo development and validation. The development starts
with the concepts and flow chat that was shown in the
development part. The design and format should be improved
because of Very Good standing, according to Gay and Airasian
(2009) the educational application should be always excellence
to achieve the necessary goal of the educational institution.
Users toward the utilization of the program is outstanding and
they are consider a leader in promoting 21st century skills
(English, 2012).
15. CONCLUSIONS
• 1. The Development part of the study explained the flow
chart of the system. It shows the figure to understand how the
system’s developed.
• 2. The validation consist of experts and users. The experts
outstandingly agreed that on the area of content (4.67),
approach and methodology (4.61) and assessment and
evaluation (4.56) while the planning and design format got very
good impression (4.42). While users found it extremely usable
as they mark it as outstanding interpretation (4.56).
16. RECOMMENDATION
• 1. The Development of the System is needed extra funding
for the government. The funding of the projects will lead to a
greater heights of success and more teachers and learners to
benefit.
• 2. The suggestions of the experts improved the computer
system for quarterly assessment. It should be maintained at all
times and updated to produce a best practice in the school
level.
