2012 – approved by the OEB for 2012-2014
– A “market transformation” program for Part 3
and Part 9 (production) builders and their
design teams
– Includes incentives and support for design
activities and building energy performance
– Delivered by SBC – 2nd year of the program

3. Part 9 Residential
– Part 9 Residential program focuses on larger
production builders who build at least 50 homes per
year
– Provides funding for design workshop (“Charrette)
including modelling and input from 3rd party building
science and technology experts
– Design Charrette outcome must demonstrate >25%
better than OBC to be eligible for follow on
incentives

4. Part 9 Residential
– Follow-on energy performance incentive of
$2000 per home (max 50 homes)
– Relies on the EnerQuality process to affirm that
homes are built to 25% better than Code
– Can be stacked with OPA incentives
– So far, 1 builder has received a $100 K
incentive

6. Part 3 Commercial/Institutional
– Part 3 Commercial program focuses on
commercial (including MURBs) > 100,000 sq. ft.
– Provides funding for design workshop
(“Charrette) including modelling and input from
3rd party building science and technology
experts
– Design Charrette outcome must demonstrate
>25% better than OBC to be eligible for follow
on incentives

7. Part 3 Commercial/Institutional
– Follow-on energy performance incentive of
$.20/m3 of modelled energy savings (up to
$50,000) and a commissioning incentive of up
to $5000
– Uses e-Quest (or similar) energy modelling as
the basis for savings
– Can be stacked with HPNC
