 Promotion of products or brands via one or more forms of
electronic media
 Digital marketing consists of pull or push online communication
tactics. These tactics can also be referred to as inbound or
outbound marketing as well
 Pull digital marketing is characterized by consumers actively
seeking marketing content. Push digital marketing occurs when
marketers send messages without the consent of the recipients

 The term Digital Marketing was first used in the 1990s, when
the SoftAd Group, developed advertising campaigns for
automobile companies
 Digital Marketing is often referred to as 'online marketing',
'internet marketing' or ‘web marketing’
 Digital media growth is estimated at 4.5 trillion online ads served
annually with digital media spend at 48% growth in 2010
