Students and their parents participated in an activity for World Healthy Eating Day where they learned to identify healthy and unhealthy foods and ingredients for sandwiches. They watched videos on foods to avoid in children's diets and what to put on their plates, then discussed healthy eating. Students presented projects on healthy foods and made and presented their own healthy sandwiches using bread, vegetables, cheese and meat. They received diplomas for their efforts to promote healthy eating.

Procedure
Students of the class IV E participated, along with their parents, in the activity,under the
coordination of their teacher.
Part I
To start off, the teacher presented some information regarding World Healthy Eating
Day – October 16th
Students and parents watched two video presentations - „Food that should be avoided in
children’s diets” and „What we put in our children’s plates”, followed by discussions
about how healthy our diets are.

There were parents that wanted to demonstrate how they prepare a healthy meal for
their family, exemplifying the preparation of a healthy breakfast.
Students formed teams and prepared projects about healthy foods, which were
presented in front of the class. Each student had to pick a fruit or vegetable, which he
had to describe, poitning our its qualities and properties.

Part II
They brought a series of ingredients for preparing a sandwich. Each student picked the
necessary ingredients for making a healthy and funny sandwich.
At the end, every student presented the sandwich they made, and then ate it.

For the effort, every student also got a diploma.

Laptop, projector, markers, projects, diplomas, ingredients (bread, lettuce, tomatoes, slices
of cheese, olives, olive oil, cucumbers, ham) plates, forks, napkins, etc.
