The majority of double page spreads have the majority of the page filled up with pictures and only ½ one page actually filled up of text, this has lead me to follow the convention and have the majority of my page imagery, to give of the appearance of the article being less daunting. As well as having the text in columns. Interview, make sure that the text follows the conventions of having the same type of font for both answer and question but a difference of colour of text, to show difference, make sure there is also a “?” at the end . 9. Main Image For Double Page Spread This would be an ideal picture for my main image as it follows a lot of conventions of the main image on a double page spread. For instance, the picture is of the main artist just sitting around showing what they do. For example in this case playing the guitar. It also has a bright background that captures the audiences eye. However this picture doesn’t have the audience looking at them, in order to solve this problem another picture in which I shall add to the article will be of the artist looking at the audience. This would give the audience the feeling still of the artist talking directly to them in and almost conversational way. This image follows the convention of a picture on the previous slide which shows examples, (Contents page says the Champion Family”. By having the picture of the artist in their natural element it makes the artist seem almost vulnerable and human, making the audience feel as if they can relate to them, therefore making them more likely to read the article.

Reflection For my double page spread I am going to have the article about an interview with Emma White, who is going to be portrayed as the female Justin Bieber (World dominating) I shall use a variation of fonts for places such as Title, quotes, summary and clips. This will allow the audience to establish the difference between the two types of texts and associate the different types of fonts which what they are, making the audience find quotes if that’s what they like. I shall keep to my colour scheme of using the colours White, Purple, Black and Yellow. The balance in which shall be on my page is that ½ of one page shall be the text in columns. I shall then have quotes organised around the page as well as having a big quote over the main picture to bring the audience in. The rest of the magazine shall then just consist of one main picture and one smaller picture in the right hand side. I decided on this as the majority of magazines have the picture on the left and have bright quotes emphasized to catch the audiences eye as they flick through. The conventions in which I shall follow are, such things as having a main image that takes up the whole of one page, variation of texts to show off different parts of the articles, keeping to the colour scheme, having quotes to bring in the audience.
