1. Weekend MBA Program Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many credits are required to complete the program?
A: 48
Q: What is the typical schedule?
A: The class meets on alternating weekends for 22 months with breaks for holidays and a
short summer break between the first and second year. There is an international
experience that is required for all students in the program. It usually happens in July
between the first and second years of the program, and most travel costs are included in
the program price (airfare, hotel, and most meals).
Q: Where does the program meet?
A: At our Executive Education Center in Clifton Park, NY off exit 9 and just behind the
Price Chopper on Route 146.
Q: What type of degree will I earn?
A: Upon completion of this program, participants will receive a fully accredited University
at Albany Masters in Business Administration degree.
Q: How long after I apply will I know whether or not I have been accepted?
A: Approximately two weeks from when we receive all of your application materials.
Q: What is the size of the class?
A: Class size is limited and we only admit students for the Fall semester. It is recommended
that prospective students apply early since classes can fill quickly.
Q: Is financial aid available?
A: Yes, Weekend Program participants are eligible for private student loans. Traditional
financial aid resources are not available. Please speak with Program Director Don
Purdy before applying for financial aid.
2. Q: Can I apply previous coursework towards my credit requirements?
A: Due to the cohort nature of the Weekend MBA Program, no course waivers or transfer
credits are allowed.
Q: How much is the program investment?
A: The program investment for the Class of 2014 is $40,800 for the two-year program. It
includes all tuition, textbooks, other course materials, meals, and the international
experience.
Q: Are all classes held off of the UAlbany campus?
A: Over 85% are taught in our Clifton Park Executive Education Center. Some courses are
taught on campus to take advantage of campus resources (computer labs, videotaping
equipment, library resources, etc.).
Q: Can I choose what classes I will take?
A: No. In order to satisfy the diverse backgrounds of our executive participants, the
program has been structured to provide the most relevant business education to business
leaders. However, there are opportunities to pursue one of seven concentrations on the
UAlbany campus.
Q: How do I start the application process?
A: Refer to the Applying to the Weekend MBA Program fact sheet for detailed instructions.
