In task 2, the main subjects of discussion and analysis are
the analysis of the capabilities of the selected
organisation through SWOT Analysis, application
strategic models of development for their organisations
and their analysis through Porter’s five forces and
thereafter, the various challenges have been identified
and recommendations for dealing with them have been
provided. The organisation selected for evaluation in part
2 is Wilkinson. This organisation is predominantly
engaged in retail and service activities. The various
relevant topics discussed and analysed in this assignment
are relevant for the organisation in particular and all
business organisations in general.
3. Analysis of group development through the
Tuckman’s stages of Group development
1. Forming- Creation of a Jury group for the purpose of Judging
2. Storming- Presentation of various ideas and angels regarding
the crime committed
3. Norming- Selection of a common direction for the whole
Jury group and selection of a common direction
4. Performing- Complete preparation of the group for
completing of the assigned task. In the case of 12 Angry Men,
this stage can be related to the casting of the Jury’s vote

Mintzberg’s 5Ps of strategy
• Plan- Deliberately created strategy decision regarding a
particular scenario, in this case the vote by the Jury
• Ploy- Strategy or plan designed to trick somebody, in the case
of the movie, the examination of witnesses by the Jury
members
• Pattern- Common attributes, and in the case of the movie, the
common decision of the Jury members regarding not guilty
verdict
• Position- Exact position, and in case of the movie, the decision
of the Jury members prior to the vote
• Perspective- Individual bias affecting judgement and in the
case of the movie, the personal views of individual jury
members

8. Implementation challenges
•The implementation challenges relate to many separate
product segments of the organisation.
•The implementation of any strategic development plan
for each area has to ensure that the existing structure of
the organisational division is not disturbed and change
has to intimate to the customers through promotional
activities.
•In the case of Wilkinson, strategic development plans
such as product diversification required slow change
which was initiated step by step process, to avoid
disturbance in the existing organisation structure and
also to avoid customer disorientation.
9. Recommendations for dealing with challenges
•The organisation should develop effective in-house
product research, design and development facilities
which can design new products for the organisation
and also improve the existing products.
•This expertise can also enable the organisation to offer
to its research and designing services to other
organisations.
•Another important challenge for managing the sale of
a large variety of products is the sale and delivery of its
products through a specialised shopping portal of the
organisation. These recommendations if implemented
by the organisation can help it to deal with challenges
faced by it.
