Research proposal
1.
2. What’s a research proposal?
Why is research proposal important?
What’s a research Proposal Assumption?
What does a proposal contain?
How to Prepare for Research Proposal
Assumptions?
3. It’s“ A document that outlines how to
propose to undertake your research
studies”(Mouton 2001:41)
A research proposal outlines what you will
research and how you will research it.
The What part is called problem.
The how part is called plan.
The research proposal serves as a kind of
contract between the student and supervisor.
4. The greatest value of the research
proposal is that keeps the research
project on course:
1. It prevents time-consuming rabbit trails
2. It dramatically reduces the amount of
reading you will do
3. It protects you against gathering
unnecessary data.
Prepare a good proposal and your
research will flow
Prepare a poor one , and it will flop.
5. is the general topic of your research paper.
It includes a thesis statement, how you intend
to prove your thesis and a bibliography.
It can either be written in paragraph or
outline form.
By writing a research proposal assumption,
your topic will be evaluated and you can then
use the information in the proposal to write
the final research paper.
Preparing for research proposal assumptions
involves brainstorming and focusing your
ideas.
6. Make a list of different topics that you want
to research.
Do some basic research about your topic:
1. You can look online or find books in the
library.
2. Take some notes as you read, and be sure to
record the bibliographic information.
3. Write down the author, the publication date,
the title of the book or article, the
publication location, publisher and the
website.
7. Create a title for your research proposal
assumption. It should relate to what you
are trying to prove in your research paper.
Write out a few sentences that relate to
the main problem that the topic is focused
on. This part will help to clarify the idea
that you are investigating
Create a hypothesis for the topic that
reveals what you believe the outcome of
the experiment will be.
8. State which research methods you will be
using. Discuss each of your sources and explain
how they relate to your topic. You can discuss
sources that come from books and the internet.
Make a vocabulary list for important
terminology that will be used in your paper
because many words have more than one
meaning.
List each source and write a brief description
of the information that source provides. Then,
write the bibliography for the research proposal
assumption. It should be alphabetized according
to the last name of the author.
