influence events throughout the whole world.
• The concept of a superpower has developed
to include economic, cultural, geographical
and military influence

Power can be attained through:
Size (land area)
Population
Resources (oil is a good example)
Military force or capability
Economic power and influence (think TNCs)
Religion/ beliefs
Cultural influence

forms of media to spread influence
Geographical Power: The sphere of influence a
superpower has on other countries (eg, Britain has
given other countries language)
Military Power: A sign of strength, modern
weapons and nuclear capability reflect power
