This document provides information about an upcoming trip to Prague, Czech Republic organized by AIESEC Hradec Králové from September 8-10, 2014. The trip will include visits to major landmarks in Prague like Prague Castle, Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, and Wenceslas Square. Participants will stay in Prague for two nights with accommodations and breakfast included, and activities planned each day including typical Czech drinks one evening. The third day will include a visit to Petrin Tower before traveling from Prague to Hradec Králové for a welcome party. Further details are provided on transportation and a 50 euro fee covering accommodations, transportation, and activities.
3. • Prague is the Capital of the Czech Republic. It is situated in
central Bohemia on the Vltava River. It has about 1.200.000
inhabitants. It is the centre of government, economics and
culture.

A little taste of Prague is just about
to start!
6. Prague Castle
The Prague castle is a residence of the Czech dukes since 9th century. In
the time of Rudolf II the castle became a famous centre of science, arts
and culture.
Famous sights in Prague Castle include: St. Vitus Cathedral, the Royal
Palace with the Vladislav Hall, the Spanish Hall.
7. Old Town Square
• There is the Astronomical Clock, called Orloj, which
strikes every 60 minutes and we can see 12 Apostles.
Orloj is very admired by tourists.
8. Charles Bridge
• Charles Bridge was built in 14th century by the
famous Gothic architect Petr Parléř. It is the
second oldest stone bridge in Central Europe.
On both ends of the bridge there are Gothic
Bridge Towers. In the 18th century the bridge
was decorated by baroque statues. During the
summer it is always full of tourists, souvenir
stalls and street artists.
9. Wenceslas Square
• This is a centre of the city. It is about 750 m long.
There is a statue of the Czech patron – St.
Wenceslas and it is a symbol of the free and
independent republic.
10. The National Theatre
• The National Theatre was built in the late Renaissanc
from the public money collection. It was damaged by
fire in 1881 and was rebuilt within the next two years

Preliminary plan
The first day there will be transport from the airport by bus and
train to accommodation. You will be able to relax, but also we
can walk around the neighborhood, etc..

13. The next day we will visit the Dancing House, Vysehrad
Gothic, Wenceslas Square, Old Town Square with
astronomical clock and a beautiful view. Then we will
go over the Charles Bridge to Prague Castle and also we
could visit the river Vltava and the National Theatre,
where there are situated paddle boat which you can
offer a wonderful view. In the evening we will have
typical Czech drink – beer, it doesn‘t matter where,
because in Prague, there are a lot of pubs, restaurants
and bars.
14. • The third day we will go on a miniature Eiffel Tower - Petřín
Tower and look around. Then we will go to the hostel and
head up to Hradec Králové, where you will meet members of
our Aiesec Hradec Králové on the Welcome Party :)

Shopping facilities
• - in the town centre: mainly shops with souvenirs
for tourists. They sell T-shirts with printed pictures
of Prague, cups, jewels, scarves, marionettes
• - in big shopping centres: Zličín, Letňany etc. – lots
of fashion shops, fast food restaurants, sports shops
and mostly a supermarket concentrated in one big
shopping mall ; people sometimes spend there lots
of time only „window shopping“
19. Transport in Prague
• - public transport: you can use trams, city buses, the
underground and funicular railway. The transport
system covers both the city and its peripherals.

• For this amount you have set for bed and breakfast for two
nights, transport from airport to accommodation, travel by
subway, trams, buses in Prague and also transport from
Prague to Hradec Králové and little suprise :)
