25 Creative Ways to use Comic Life in the Classroom. http://www.slideshare.net/suziea/comic-life-in-the-classroom Check this site out to get started: Created by Barrie Morgan
#1 Create a ‘how to…..’ http://www.howtoons.com/ This is a great site which gives examples of how comics are used to provide instructions Pupils can learn new skills by creating a ‘how to’.. This could be used for activities such as, science, craft and other practical activity.
#2 Write a travel guide or a travel poem What about writing a travel poem? Here’s a useful, site to get started with: http://www.ehow.com/how_4442770_write-trip-poem.html Why not paste your poem in to Wordle to create a word cloud.
#3 Carry out a project on a topic Pupils can combine images with text in a comic strip using information from a project task. Here’s a site with some templates to use: http://comic-life.wikispaces.com/Templates
#4 Explain how…. Create a comic to show how to use a flip camera with windows movie maker. This is one I created recently.
#5 Convert a story Engage pupils’ interests in stories by asking them to convert a novel, poem or play into a comic form. They could keep to the setting of the story or add a modern twist to it. Pupils could chose classic tales or contemporary novels Here’s an example: Stick Figure hamlet ,[object Object],http://www.stickfigurehamlet.com/act1/scene2/page01.html
#6 Interview Pupils could create a comic based on an interview between two people.. The teacher can provide the questions which one of the characters will ask and the pupils have to research the answers for the other character. Pupils could also create their own questions on a subject and ask another pupil to find the answers.
#7 Write a story Creating comics is a great method to help pupils learn how to develop a story. It allows them to create a sequence, explore storylines and understand the use of characters, settings and dialogue. Pupils might choose a theme to work from. http://www.slideshare.net/suziea/comic-life-in-the-classroom
