society.
• It takes people into account.
• It’s objective is to pass information that will
help improve quality of life of people, a
community or society.

• The ultimate goal of development journalism
is to empower people with valid information
to improve the quality of their lives through
social, political, cultural, and economic
changes.

- A transforming role, as it seeks social change
in the direction of building a scientific value
based society by virtue of adequate
information.
- In playing its roles, development journalism
attempts to create an atmosphere for change
by making people well informed.

spread “Scientific Temper” in the society.
• “Scientific Temper” in society is essential to
bring in required changes in the society for all-
round development of people and
communities.

administration and political community.
