Frequency extension Frequency extension TX/RX radio front-ends for VHF/UHF range RF IN FEU FEU FEU FEU LO1 LO1 LO1 LO3 IF OUT FCU FCU FCU FCU LO1 LO1 LO1 LO2 LO1 LO1 LO1 LO1 From the universal common structure specialized font-end tuners could derive RF IN Embedded controller FCU LO2 IF OUT LO1 VHF TX/RX front-end RF OUT FEU FEU FEU FEU FCU FCU FCU FCU IF IN The main function of the frequency extension radio front-end is the frequency conversion between the radiated (RF) and digitally processed (IF) frequency domain UHF multi-channel RX front-end RF IN The universal structure is based on a triple-conversion heterodyne frequency translator with some receive and transmit channels with independent or phase coherent common local synthesizers and embedded controller.
