HERE FOR ORIGINAL, PLAGIARISM-FREE PAPERSI discovered an example of experimental
study in the article Animal Model of Hurdle Racer Skeletal Muscle Injury in Experimental
Research by Xu and Peng (2020). “The purpose of this article is to investigate the value of
MR-T2mapping quantitative analysis technology in the clinical diagnosis of sports micro-
injury by observing the relationship between MRI performance and muscle
pathophysiological changes after sports injury in SD rats, and to find a simple and effective
test,” write Xu and Peng (2020). Methods were employed to assess the severity of sports
injury and rehabilitation.” Subjects tested were that of male SD rats. There was a control
group of 8 rats that were selected randomly and the other 55 were selected as the
experimental group. The experimental group were forced to exercise for a specific
timeframe whereas the control group was used as a comparison for when the experimental
group had completed their exercise. An example of quasi-experimental research comes from
the article titled Evaluating teaching strategies in community health nursing students: A
quasi-experimental research study by Policicchio, et al (2019). According to Policicchio, et
al (2019) “this paper describes how the Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS) (Ang et al., 2007)
was utilized to perform a curriculum assessment to determine if cultural intelligence
increased in undergraduate nursing students after the faculty teaching community health
nursing implemented three different teaching strategies to globalize the community health
curriculum. Two groups of nurses were taught cultural intelligence, one had a field
experience (Africa) and the other had a local experience. Both groups were compared based
on the results.Lastly, an example of nonexperimental research comes from the article
titled Can Treatment Research Inform Decision Makers? Nonexperimental Method Issues
and Examples Among Older Outpatients by David C. Speer (1994). The subjects used were
92 of 110 clients who were admitted to the Mature Adult Counseling Center (MACC). Each
client was given a questionnaire and the results were based on the completed
questionnaires. These results were used to develop new policies.According to Helbig &
Ambrose (2018) experimental research design is “a type of quantitative research design
that is highly controlled to study cause and effect with independent and dependent
variables”. The quasi-experimental research design is “a type of quantitative research
design that is partially controlled that studies cause and effect of variables”. Lastly,
nonexperimental research is “a research study that does not involve an experimental drug,
treatment, or procedure”. HLT 362V Grand Canyon University Quasi & Experimental

or multiple waves of measurement. The non-experimental research is a single control
group. Experimental research is research conducted with a scientific approach using two
sets of variables. An experimental research was conducted on the effects of psychoactive
medications are a factor in in motor vehicle accidents resulting in injury or even death. In
Australia between 2008 and 2009 a study revealed that benzodiazepines and opioid
medications were among the top 30 most frequently prescribed medications. These
medications effect the nervous system, therefore can affect a person’s driving skills. Many
patients are discharged from the hospital on these medications. The study determined that
there is poor community awareness relating to the use of these medications in relation to
impaired driving. Australian policies were put in place to allow random roadside drug
screening of drivers.A non-experimental research was conducted to determine how
community dwelling older adults manage their medications. The older adults lived in
apartments in both urban and rural areas. Some variables included the older adults’
cognition, medical diagnosis, social support, and medicine efficiency. A correlation was
found between the population’s diagnosis of depression and medicine efficiency. There was
a negative correlation found between depression and social support.A quasi-experimental
research was done by Brigham Young University in relation to how fine particulate air
pollution is linked to school absences. The research involved elementary school students.
The study showed exposure to air pollutions and seasonal changes. There was an increase
in absences associated with air pollution.Deerob4- A quasi-experimental research includes

be similar to clinical research but the focus and goals of the study differ. QI projects work to
make the system better, more cost-effective, increase productivity, and create continual
gains in an identified process. The QI project is directed to specific processes or practice
within the organization and is intended to advance the operation of the system in the
organizational environment. Because of the nature of QI studies, participant protections are
more easily addressed. QI investigators in health care frequently collect primary data from
volunteer participants using anonymous surveys. QI project teams stringently adhere to
confidentiality of patient data. Because QI projects examine internal processes and work to
generate solutions to process problems, the new knowledge generated is specific to that
organization or system and not generalizable. QI projects have a limited audience. The
project results are intended for individuals internal to the organization rather than the
scientific community at large. The hallmark of research is the process of generating new
scientific knowledge. Whether the research has a quantitative or qualitative focus, it is
characterized by a design to test a hypothesis or expand current knowledge. The products
of research are focused in a way as to generalize to other similar patients and settings so the
results are expected to be presented, published, or otherwise disseminated to consumers or
the scientific community. The design of the research includes a scientific framework and
control of variables. Because of benefits and risks inherent in research, proposals must be
reviewed by an institutional review board (IRB) and approved before research begins.QI
provides steps to assess, plan, implement change, and evaluate results connected to an
organizational process, which reflects an internal organizational concern. Research, on the
other hand, is focused on gaining new knowledge, within a scientific framework (Reinhardt
& Ray, 2003).Examples of potential nursing research include conducting a systematic
review of studies on preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), a
randomized controlled trial exploring new wound care methods, and a qualitative study to
investigate the lived experiences of patients with a specific chronic disease (Conner,
2014).One example of qualitative research is patient satisfaction surveys as these include
collecting data on nurse-doctor communication, nurse-patient communication, and pain
management through survey questions. Throughout all of the hospitals I have worked, care
is adjusted based on the survey results as the data collected supports quality measures
reported to CMS. For example, the AIDET Model (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration,
Explanation, Thank) was roled out to address patient and family frustration with “not being
kept in the loop on patient care issues”. Using AIDET increased patient and family
satisfaction toward what was happening in the patients care and allowed the patient and
family a voice in that care.An example of quantitative research would be the data collected
regarding operating room turnover times. This data is collected in minutes from the EMR
and used to help evaluate operating room efficiency. This research is a part of almost every
large operating room today. Collection of this data helps the OR and hospital to increase
efficiency in procedural areas to improve patient, staff, and physician satisfaction as well as
the bottom line of hospital revenues.JacMwa5.6 – Nursing research has a tremendous
influence on current and future professional nursing practice, thus rendering it an essential
component of the educational process. Research is systematic inquiry designed to develop
knowledge about issues of importance to nurses, including nursing practice, nursing
education, and nursing administration. (Tingen, 2009)Quality improvement is a continuous
process involving all levels of the organization working together across departmental lines
to produce better services for health care clients. The use of quality circles, quality councils,
or quality improvement forums to facilitate the coordination of quality improvement efforts
is an effective way to achieve success. Quality improvement and research actually go hand-
in-hand. Many changes throughout the quality process occur because there has been
research and studies done to prove it is the best practice.Although it is common to draw a
distinction between qualitative and quantitative aspects of scientific investigation, a mixed-
methods approach (a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques) is often used.
Qualitative research is, in some cases, instrumental to developing an understanding of a
phenomenon as a basis for quantitative research. In other cases, it can inform or enrich our
understanding of quantitative results. Similarly, quantitative research may inform, or be
drawn upon in the process of qualitative research. Examples of quantitative research within
the organization I work for would be the impact of social media reviews on our
organization. An example of qualitative research would be a one-on-one interview for new
nurse candidates.

HLT 362V Grand Canyon University Quasi & Experimental Research Design ResponsesLilAbr2- An example of experimental research I found was from the article titled Animal Model of Hurdle Racer Skeletal Muscle Injury in Experimental Research by Xu and Peng (2020). According to Xu & Peng (2020) “the purpose of this article is to investigate the value of MR-T2mapping quantitative analysis technology in the clinical diagnosis of sports micro-injury by observing the relationship between MRI performance and muscle pathophysiological changes after sports injury in SD rats, and to find a simple and effective test Methods were used to evaluate the degree of sports injury and recovery”. Subjects tested were that of male SD rats. There was a control group of 8 rats that were selected randomly and the other 55 were selected as the experimental group. The experimental group were forced to exercise for a specific timeframe whereas the control group was used as a comparison for when the experimental group had completed their exercise. An example of quasi-experimental research comes from the article titled Evaluating teaching strategies in community health nursing students: A quasi- experimental research study by Policicchio, et al (2019). According to Policicchio, et al (2019) “this paper describes how the Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS) (Ang et al., 2007) was utilized to perform a curriculum assessment to determine if cultural intelligence increased in undergraduate nursing students after the faculty teaching community health nursing implemented three different teaching strategies to globalize the community health curriculum. Two groups of nurses were taught cultural intelligence, one had a field experience (Africa) and the other had a local experience. Both groups were compared based on the results.Lastly, an example of nonexperimental research comes from the article titled Can Treatment Research Inform Decision Makers? Nonexperimental Method Issues and Examples Among Older Outpatients by David C. Speer (1994). The subjects used were 92 of 110 clients who were admitted to the Mature Adult Counseling Center (MACC). Each client was given a questionnaire and the results were based on the completed questionnaires. These results were used to develop new policies.According to Helbig & Ambrose (2018) experimental research design is “a type of quantitative research design that is highly controlled to study cause and effect with independent and dependent variables”. The quasi-experimental research design is “a type of quantitative research design that is partially controlled that studies cause and effect of variables”. Lastly, nonexperimental research is “a research study that does not involve an experimental drug, treatment, or procedure”.HeaCor3- A quasi-experimental research includes multiple groups or multiple waves of measurement. The non-experimental research is a single control group. Experimental research is research conducted with a scientific approach using two sets of variables. An experimental research was conducted on the effects of psychoactive medications are a factor in in motor vehicle accidents resulting in injury or even death. In Australia between 2008 and 2009 a study revealed that benzodiazepines and opioid medications were among the top 30 most frequently prescribed medications. These medications effect the nervous system, therefore can affect a person’s driving skills. Many patients are discharged from the hospital on these medications. The study determined that

Australian policies were put in place to allow random roadside drug screening of drivers.A non-experimental research was conducted to determine how community dwelling older adults manage their medications. The older adults lived in apartments in both urban and rural areas. Some variables included the older adults’ cognition, medical diagnosis, social support, and medicine efficiency. A correlation was found between the population’s diagnosis of depression and medicine efficiency. There was a negative correlation found between depression and social support.A quasi-experimental research was done by Brigham Young University in relation to how fine particulate air pollution is linked to school absences. The research involved elementary school students. The study showed exposure to air pollutions and seasonal changes. There was an increase in absences associated with air pollution.Deerob4- A quasi-experimental research includes multiple groups or multiple waves of measurement. QI projects work to make the system better, more cost-effective, increase productivity, and create continual gains in an identified process. The QI project is directed to specific processes or practice within the organization and is intended to advance the operation of the system in the organizational environment. Because of the nature of QI studies, participant protections are more easily addressed. QI investigators in health care frequently collect primary data from volunteer participants using anonymous surveys. QI project teams stringently adhere to confidentiality of patient data. Because QI projects examine internal processes and work to generate solutions to process problems, the new knowledge generated is specific to that organization or system and not generalizable. QI projects have a limited audience. The project results are intended for individuals internal to the organization rather than the
  • 4. scientific community at large. The hallmark of research is the process of generating new scientific knowledge. Whether the research has a quantitative or qualitative focus, it is characterized by a design to test a hypothesis or expand current knowledge. The products of research are focused in a way as to generalize to other similar patients and settings so the results are expected to be presented, published, or otherwise disseminated to consumers or the scientific community. The design of the research includes a scientific framework and control of variables. Because of benefits and risks inherent in research, proposals must be reviewed by an institutional review board (IRB) and approved before research begins.QI provides steps to assess, plan, implement change, and evaluate results connected to an organizational process, which reflects an internal organizational concern. Research, on the other hand, is focused on gaining new knowledge, within a scientific framework (Reinhardt & Ray, 2003).Examples of potential nursing research include conducting a systematic review of studies on preventing catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI), a randomized controlled trial exploring new wound care methods, and a qualitative study to investigate the lived experiences of patients with a specific chronic disease (Conner, 2014).One example of qualitative research is patient satisfaction surveys as these include collecting data on nurse-doctor communication, nurse-patient communication, and pain management through survey questions. Throughout all of the hospitals I have worked, care is adjusted based on the survey results as the data collected supports quality measures reported to CMS. For example, the AIDET Model (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank) was roled out to address patient and family frustration with “not being kept in the loop on patient care issues”. Using AIDET increased patient and family satisfaction toward what was happening in the patients care and allowed the patient and family a voice in that care.An example of quantitative research would be the data collected regarding operating room turnover times. This data is collected in minutes from the EMR and used to help evaluate operating room efficiency. This research is a part of almost every large operating room today. Collection of this data helps the OR and hospital to increase efficiency in procedural areas to improve patient, staff, and physician satisfaction as well as the bottom line of hospital revenues.JacMwa5.6 – Nursing research has a tremendous influence on current and future professional nursing practice, thus rendering it an essential component of the educational process. Research is systematic inquiry designed to develop knowledge about issues of importance to nurses, including nursing practice, nursing education, and nursing administration. (Tingen, 2009)Quality improvement is a continuous process involving all levels of the organization working together across departmental lines to produce better services for health care clients. The use of quality circles, quality councils, or quality improvement forums to facilitate the coordination of quality improvement efforts is an effective way to achieve success. Quality improvement and research actually go hand- in-hand. Many changes throughout the quality process occur because there has been research and studies done to prove it is the best practice.Although it is common to draw a distinction between qualitative and quantitative aspects of scientific investigation, a mixed- methods approach (a combination of qualitative and quantitative techniques) is often used. Qualitative research is, in some cases, instrumental to developing an understanding of a phenomenon as a basis for quantitative research. In other cases, it can inform or enrich our
  • 5. understanding of quantitative results. Similarly, quantitative research may inform, or be drawn upon in the process of qualitative research. Examples of quantitative research within the organization I work for would be the impact of social media reviews on our organization. An example of qualitative research would be a one-on-one interview for new nurse candidates.
