One thing you may have noticed about Star Wars is Luke Skywalker just didn't text Obi-wan and ask him "there some droids here" -  or that Han Solo doesn't watch Netflix on his tablet while spinning through space on the Millennium Falcon.  In honor of Star Wars Day, todays exciting Webinar will be all the amazing things you can do without using a computer or tablet and learn how to code.  If you want to be like Rey and defend the galaxy from evil without the need of a computer, cell phone, and tablet - then this webinar is for you.

  4. 4. So what is coding? • Coding is involved in almost every aspect of our lives. From posting on Facebook, to your smart phones, to games, to websites, to this very webinar. • Coding makes things happen, and they are simply instructions to make the “magic” happen. Think of coding for computer programs as writing down the steps needed to do something. • Computers are inherently dumb

(Follow these STEPS to get THAT) • Algorithms • An ordered set of steps to solve a problem (not always a mathematical problem)

Determining Your “Side” • Formerly: Run-time performance • At one point, a well performing computer was costly, so lightweight languages had to be used, concise commands, and less “flashy” design • Now: Life cycle (human) cost is more important • Ease of use for both user and programmer • Cost of maintenance (debugging, updates, etc)
