4. CTSO Initial Training
1. Commercial training (2 days)
The CTSO Consultant acts as a middle-man between the prospective cli-
ent and the tradesman, helping to determine a quote for a fair price.
He brings service and care to his clients.
However, there is a commercial part in work .
CTSO organizes an initial training course in the following areas:
• Explanation of a CTSO consultant’s work
• Explanation of the Partnership between a
CTSO Consultant and the craftsmen
• Personal Development
• Customer Care
• Training and Development
• Hospitality
Themes:
• Understand what customers want, need, think and feel
• Ensuring satisfaction
• Taking responsibility
• Language skills
• Vocabulary
• Pronunciation
• Tone
• Listening skills
• Problem-solving skils
• Flexibility
• Initiative and proactiveness
• Task orientation
NB: The dates of the commercial and building training are defined at the
time of contract signature.

You and your CTSO consultant:
how the partnership works

Dear Sir/Madam,
First, thank you for contacting a CTSO consultant in relation to the work thet you have in
mind.
Your relationship with CTSO is not a commercial one, as our service is free to clients. Your
CTSO consultant is not there to ‘sell’ you a particular craftsman or business; he is simply on hand
to advise and to help you to make the right choices.
Ultimately, you will choose the craftsman/business with whom you wish to work, just as
you have decided the nature of the work to be carried out. CTSO does not have an exclusive
agreement with any craftsman or business , and your CTSO consultant will try as many companies
as it takes in order to find the one that best suits your individual needs.
If your CTSO consultant suggests a craftsman/business, you can be reassured (1) that they
have been thoroughly assessed for the quality of their work, (2) that they are qualified and capa-
ble of completing your job and (3) that they (and all employees) are registered and legally compli-
ant. All craftsmen/businesses that work with CTSO must sign a quality charter covering all relevant
commercial, technical and legal issues.
No matter what the job is, CTSO does all the background work for you!
Here is a typical example schedule of a project involving CTSO:
• The first visit (today) will enable the CTSO consultant to: discuss your project; understand
your objectives; ask questions and give you an opportunity to ask questions; and assess the
number and type of artisans/tradesmen you will need for the job.
• With a clear understanding of what you wish to achieve, the consultant will begin the search
for the people best suited to the project. In this respect, he will be able to draw on a net-
work of qualified, approved and relevant artisans/tradesmen; the ultimate choice will de-
pend on professional quality and also the specifics of your project. And don’t worry – no
matter how specialised the work you wish to have carried out, CTSO will find the right com-
6. CTSO Initial Training
• With your agreement, he will arrange for the relevant tradespeople (we suggest 2 or 3 repre-
senting each relevant sector/skill) to make a first visit and provide you with a quote. These 2
or 3 will have been selected from at least a dozen possible candidates; each is likely to have a
different view of the project and a different proposal or set of options on how to approach
the work. The consultant will accompany each of them during this first visit, explaining your
ideas and objectives, and this will help to speed up the process considerably.
• Within an agreed period of 10 days, all the tradespeople who have been invited to quote for
the job will send the relevant information to the consultant. This will allow the consultant to
examine each quote and seek additional information if needed.
• The consultant will then arrange a meeting and present you with all your options. We think
you will be pleasantly surprised in terms of price – another key advantage of working with
CTSO – and of course, the technical ability of all tradespeople involved will already have been
verified. This meeting will give you the opportunity to request further clarification of the
quote (any aspect) from the tradesperson/company involved.
• Once you have made your choice(s) – with final adjustments to the proposal, if necessary –
you provide your CTSO consultant with a cheque payable to the company or companies in-
volved. As mentioned, you do not pay CTSO – our service is free. We agree a commencement
date with the artisans/tradesmen… and the work begins!
While our legal/formal role ends at this point, we are always close at hand – and happy to
help.
We'll be there when work starts, to ensure everything goes to plan. We’ll make regular
visits to ensure all promises are being kept. And in the unlikely event that anything goes wrong or
that you become concerned about any aspect of the project, we’ll be there to support, assist and
mediate if necessary.
Our strength is in working with different artisans from different sectors. We respect
them, and they respect us. But ultimately, we are in charge – and if we ask for something, it’s in
their interest to comply.
Our goal in all of this to ensure that your project is completed to your satisfaction. We
hope you will see us as your partner, one that saves you time and money, provides you with advice
and expertise – and does it all for free!
Call any time – your CTSO consultant is always ready to help. Their details:

des painting, papering, and tiling skills —needed to maintain and renova-
