BDIC wins Higher Education Partnership of the
year at the Asia Matters Business Awards 2018
UCD and BJUT (Beijing University of
Technology create BDIC in 2012)
UCD Staff teach on four degrees (IoT,
Software Eng, Finance, Elec Info Eng)
currently 1,200 students enrolled
Since 2012 BDIC students visit UCD
Campus annually and receive library
training
BDIC see UCD Library as an integral part
of the UCD student experience
In 2016 a request for information skills
training programme delivered on Beijing
campus (physical presence)
BDIC - Beijing Dublin International College
Preparation
Library training programme designed for BDIC students
Presentations and support materials were integrated into the VLE to
encourage student engagement
Library tutorials adapted to to reflect local restrictions. Local testing
of online tools to ensure compatibility

  • 3. BDIC wins Higher Education Partnership of the year at the Asia Matters Business Awards 2018

UCD and BJUT (Beijing University of Technology create BDIC in 2012) UCD Staff teach on four degrees (IoT, Software Eng, Finance, Elec Info Eng) currently 1,200 students enrolled Since 2012 BDIC students visit UCD Campus annually and receive library training BDIC see UCD Library as an integral part of the UCD student experience In 2016 a request for information skills training programme delivered on Beijing campus (physical presence) BDIC - Beijing Dublin International College

Preparation Library training programme designed for BDIC students Presentations and support materials were integrated into the VLE to encourage student engagement Library tutorials adapted to to reflect local restrictions. Local testing of online tools to ensure compatibility Installation of VPN Final reflective report on our experiences 20172019 More structured programme to cover all 4 Stages over two weeks with an aim to reach all BDIC students Presentation materials to share on BrightSpace (new UCD VLE) Hosting of video tutorials on HEAnet Media Hosting to allow access via Library libguides Promote use of the student VPN Final reflective report on our experiences Beyond Meet with BDIC Provost to discuss findings from our reports Decide if and how the library support will continue Consider increasing UCD partnerships in China, how to accommodate additional institutions Training the trainers

Future {Future} Support - agreement (for now) to continue teaching Structure - more structured training programme UCD Library - hopefully more staff will travel to Beijing Challenges - continue to work with BDIC to resolve issues In House - long term goal to have local expert? UCD and China - new partnerships started or on the horizon, can we continue to accommodate the demand?
